    Mechanical Technician/Engineer

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Conduct preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on all mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance
    • Troubleshoot mechanical faults, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
    • Maintain mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, conveyors, and rotating equipment
    • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards during all maintenance activities
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, service reports, and equipment histories
    • Assist with the installation, commissioning, and testing of new mechanical equipment
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant mechanical operations

    Qualifications and Experience

    • National Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
    • Trade certification or equivalent mechanical technical qualification is advantageous
    • In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, conveyors, and rotating equipment
    • Knowledge of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance techniques
    • Familiarity with maintenance management systems, technical drawings, and documentation
    • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing or process environment

    Project Manager

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Approved project charters, scope documents, and schedules
    • Feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost estimates completed
    • Timely execution of Nitrates projects within scope, budget, and schedule
    • Coordination of contractors, vendors, and internal teams
    • Quality assurance and compliance with SHEQ standards

    • In-depth understanding of Nitrates production processes and chemical plant operations
    • Project management methodologies (PMBOK, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
    • Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards, including OHS Act, MHSA, Explosives Regulations, and NEMA requirements
    • Familiarity with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes
    • Understanding of budget management, cost control, and financial reporting

    Technical Manager

    Roles and Responsibilities

    Technician

    Required outputs: Functional

    • Do installations and maintenance services on our existing dosing equipment (Electrical & Mechanical)
    • Provide guidance and recommendations for the installations of new dosing equipment
    • Advice on better and more efficient technology for our dosing stations
    • Work closely with service specialist to ensure proper maintenance of AECI resources
    • Response to call outs and standby duties
    • Safety Inspections – PTRA’s and House keeping
    • Maintain workshop Tools and Equipment
    • Maintain good housekeeping at the workshop and at the plant

    Shift Manager

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Manage and oversee all AN Bagging activities during the shift to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality output
    • Ensure continuous plant availability and optimal machine utilization
    • Execute daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer and business requirements
    • Monitor process parameters and ensure immediate corrective action for deviations.
    • Lead shift handovers and maintain accurate production and downtime records
    • Enforce compliance with all Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) procedures
    • Conduct shift safety talks, toolbox meetings, and risk assessments
    • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safe operating procedures
    • Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SHEQ performance
    • Supervise operators, packers, and material handlers to ensure efficient shift performance
    • Plan, allocate, and coordinate manpower based on production demands

    Qualifications and Experience

    • National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field
    • Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in team management within a process or chemical operations environment
    • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, equipment reliability, and operational excellence
    • Proven leadership, team development, and stakeholder management capabilities
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing/chemical plant operations
    • Knowledge of SHEQ standards and legal compliance

    Plant Operator

    Required outputs: Functional

    • Conduct Safety checks, process pre-start-ups, conduct daily routine inspection
    • Operate the plant through SCADA programme and correct deviations accordingly
    • Ensure that the handover log sheets is completed accurately.
    • Perform analysis on plant water samples as required and report if any deviations.
    • Carry out visual inspection, screening, weighing, recording and analysing results from specifications
    • Ensure accurate production data is captured in the system
    • Basic knowledge of operational machinery
    • Comply with governance and compliance policies and procedures, work within established policies, systems, procedures, processes and practices
    • Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards

    • Ensure effective shut down and start-up of RO plant.

    • Do CIP on equipment as required to ensure plant efficiency.
    • Manage chemical stock level and accurate monitoring of consumption.

    Qualifications and expertise required (Must)

    • A minimum qualification of Grade 12/Matric
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage
