    Corporate Social Responsibilty Manager

    Job description

    Scope

    Colgate requires the skills of an experienced Corporate Social Responsibility Manager to mold and drive amongst other things its BBBEE strategy. This entails care taking the Colgate Trust; driving SMME development programs (especially Colgate’s BSBF Program) and social responsibility initiatives as well as EE within the Company. This strategic role has the overall responsibility for the BBBEE scorecard and other Corporate Social Responsibility related projects. In addition the successful candidate must have a track record in managing similar types of projects and have operated at a middle to senior management level.

    The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent leadership, project management, collaboration and communication skills, working with both internal teams and external stakeholders and partners, and demonstrated strategic thinking capabilities.

    Interpersonal & team skills, problem solving, decision making, influencing and meeting deadlines are key. Must be able to identify issues and drive corrective action, self-starter, motivated to excel and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must work hard within the organization to promote culture of responsibility and market leadership, tackling new areas as per stakeholder request

    Main Duties / Responsibilities

    • The Corporate Social Responsibility Manager is responsible for ensuring that the BBBEE scorecard is prepared as per requirements and the monitoring as well as updating of records that relate to the BBBEE requirements are executed.
    • The Corporate Social Responsibility Manager must work within policies and procedures and in compliance with all BBBEE and other related legislation.
    • This individual is also responsible for providing overall support to Colgate Trust.
    • Develop and execute the BBBEE strategy which interlocks with the Colgate Corporate Social Responsibility and Go to Market Strategies.
    • Prepare the BBBEE policy; implement BBBEE compliance policies and procedures ensuring that relevant compliance documentation is in place and maintained at all times. Ensure that key stakeholders are regularly updated on the progress made against the targets outlined in the Company scorecard.
    • Management & Employment Equity: Oversee the management of the EE committee which includes quarterly meetings & related actions take place. Ensure that managers are constantly trained on EE and monitor the recruitment of employees against the EE tracker, ensuring targets are met. Prepare EE reports as per the required deadlines and ensure targets are met.
    • Skills Development: Ensure maintenance and updating of Skills Development training and reports, as per the required deadlines and legislation.
    • Preferential Procurement: Constantly review the BBBEE status of suppliers and look at means of improving upon spend with suppliers and the related strategy.
    • Enterprise Development: Constant review of key stakeholders and related spend as well as devise action plans to meet targets.
    • Socio Economic Development Ensure maintenance and updating of list of all charities contributed to include the % of black beneficiaries, spend and type of contribution. Reporting: prepare documents and reports on the computer for reporting purposes.
    • Prepare for the annual audit. Ensure that all relevant documents and files for reporting purposes are completed on time.
    • Trust Management: Attend related calls; provide guidance to the various parties and keep key stakeholders informed. Ensure that the Trust is constantly reviewed; updated and proposal’s made to the relevant committees to improve upon the management as well as approach of the existing Trust.
    • The Manager is responsible for Colgate’s overall Corporate Social Responsibility and is also responsible for the BBBEE strategy; ensuring compliance and monitoring as well as execution of the scorecard system allowing for the company requirements to be maintained and updated timeously.

    Level Of Education / Experience/ Skills Required

    • B com Degree or equivalent (MBA will be advantageous)
    • BBBEE courses
    • Related corporate experience in the FMCG Sector and related codes
    • Preferred: 5 years’ experience as a Corporate Social Responsibility and BBEE driver within a FMCG organization.
    • Strategic project experience and business experience

    The incumbent must have proficient knowledge of the following areas.

    • P&L understanding of Corporate and Social Responsibility
    • Experience in BBBEE codes and BBBEE accreditation
    • Experience in transformation process and BEE Analysis
    • Experience with a BBBEE Rating Agency
    • Preparation of reports.
    • Understanding of relevant legislation policies and procedures.

    SCOPE

    An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified CA / CISA candidate at Colgate Palmolive South Africa. The successful incumbent will ensure SOX compliance and internal Control Governance in addition to information systems management i. e SAP and Governance Risk Control. The successful candidate will be required to travel at least 10% to the various site locations in South Africa / abroad as required.

    Main Duties Responsibilities

    • Understand and evaluate business processes and identify improvement opportunities in Finance Dept.
    • Assist in researching and adopting best practices in other subs for local operations
    • Assist in preparing a schedule to address areas identified for improvement and determine proceduresto sustain those improvements
    • Assist in planning and managing implementation of improvement programs, including the facilitation of user ownership
    • Challenge Status quo to ensure on-going improvements of operation practices, collaboration with functional area managers
    • Implement and ensure compliance to CP business practice. (ie. OFAC compliance, VAT registration,

    • Assist in preparing annual and quarterly reports to Global SOX administrator

    • Monthly testing of Master Data vs. Source Document as per Sox Requirements
    • Run monthly ZPOR and Ebuy PO reports and analysis and report and follow up with teams.
    • Audit Plan Management Testing of Samples and documentation of evidence
    • ADHOC stock counts audit of samples / Fixed Assets
    • Ensure internal and external audit remediation plans for the region are put in place after every audit and report on the progress on a monthly basis
    • Assist in training employees about internal controls and adherence to the Colgate Financial Policies (CFP’s)
    • Coordinate and review monthly/annual (Sarbanes Oxley) SOX compliance testing ensuring that corporate deadlines are met
    • Review and advise potential financial risk areas to the leadership team in line with the respective countries statutory requirements
    • Attend to special projects of a confidential matter as assigned by the leadership team
    • Participate with Division Collaborating FI partner on AEA Finance Network communities / systems / audit / tools
    • Conduct Monthly reviews and Testing of Adhoc /SOX and monthly testing schedules.
    • Manage the clearing of Corporate Card expenses and expense claims reconciliations.
    • Execute and review all Manual Invoices and Payments.

    Education / Experience

    Minimum two years SOX experience in FMCG environment preferably. Articles completed at Big 4 Audit companies Must be a qualified CA or CISA ( Certified Information Services Auditor).
