    Data Center Expense

    Job Summary

    Manage pay-to-process (P2P) related matters. Owns co-ordination and consolidation of budget and forecast data, provide commitment tracking reporting to support IBX teams, and ad hoc duties that are moderately difficult requiring judgement in resolving issues or making recommendations.

    Responsibilities

    Procure to Pay Process

    • Supports the team by creating Purchase Requisitions for the country/region Data Center teams
    • Monitors purchase order quality and provides KPI reporting in order to improve process
    • Works with requestors to make sure POs receipted correctly and timely
    • Updates commitment values vs. POs and working with Ops Finance/General Ledger, assesses what commitments have not been made vs. budget
    • Ensures compliance of Purchase Requests (5 W’s), all required contracts/legal approvals, accounting codes and competitive bids
    • Contacts vendor for invoices where necessary
    • Solves billing/invoice problems related to the country/region expenses

    Budget Management

    • Coordinates and consolidates budget and forecast inputs from Data Center Operations teams, undertakes ad hoc analysis to help drive forecast adjustments

    Reporting

    • Responsible for running and providing commitment tracking reporting to Data Center teams, supporting Ops finance on month end reporting, variance commentary, and supporting the accrual process
    • Generate KPI reporting around Ops tasks completion and accuracy (such as receipting)
    • Provides process improvement recommendations

    Business Relationships

    • Key touch point for Ops team on finance admin related queries
    • Supports vendors as key point of contact for complex query resolution management working closely with accounts payable team
    • Works to support Ops finance on budget, forecast and month end deliverables
    • Acts as the link between the business and finance to meet commitments

    Financial Problem Solving

    • Solves problems in moderately difficult situations and considers possible solutions
    • Investigates actual vs. forecast variances
    • Assists in month end accrual process
    • Provides analysis and performs ad hoc duties as required
    • Provides recommendations for process improvement/efficiency gains

    Qualifications

    • Proven years of related experience preferred

    Data Center Customer Operations

    Job Summary

    Has a substantial understanding of the job while working on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgement in resolving issues or making recommendations. Focus is on moderately difficult tasks, using substantial understanding of standard operating procedure. Supports the overall team.

    Responsibilities

    Queue Management / Reporting

    • Reviews work orders in the queue and works on moderately difficult requests by adhering to commitment times
    • Supports cross-functional teams to collaborate on customer tickets
    • Ensures any necessary reporting is complete and accurate; supports ad-hoc reporting requests
    • Actively provides input and makes recommendations to processes
    • Maintains detailed written records of all work activity
    • Updates local asset databases and other systems

    Installations

    • Handles moderately difficult rack and stack customer equipment tickets
    • Able to read moderately difficult installation spreadsheet plans and supports implementing installations accordingly
    • Supports the installation of moderately difficult installs, which may include:
    • overhead cable trays, cage mesh, cabinets, and cable management/support systems; circuits for fiber terminations; cable distribution trays, cabinets, and cable management/support systems; and performs tape changes and back-up necessities.
    • Recognizes and raises capacity concerns for infrastructure expansions needs and cabling where needed
    • Performs quality checks on both cross-connects and on-site support tickets and recommends improvements

    Cross-Connect

    • Supports moderately difficult data center cross-connect work, requiring substantial understanding of operating procedures for: installs, terminations, modifications, and testing
    • Installs and tests moderately difficult cross-connect circuits, which may include: switched, multiplexed, etc.

    Testing / Troubleshooting

    • Supports moderately difficult operating testing of layer 1, 2 and 3 cross-connect certification testing
    • Supports the troubleshooting of modernly difficult circuits (i.e., switched, multiplexed, etc.)
    • Escalates more advanced circuits and supports as needed
    • Works with customers to troubleshoot issues and uses experience gained to recommend solutions

    Stakeholder Partnership

    • Monitors stock levels and proactively addresses needs for materials with proper teams
    • Provides escalated work order support, and supports dispatch of alarms
    • May provide back-up support to security personnel, if needed

    Customer Management

    • Supports customer satisfaction through timely and precise order execution
    • Delivers a high level of service and an excellent customer experience when interfacing with customers
    • Provides support with time expectations on new deployments and existing alterations
    • Supports customers on-site by through access control and escorting services
    • Point of Contact (POC) for supporting moderately difficult customer requests, exceptions or escalations

    Projects

    • Supports and partners with team members on projects as directed
    • Coordinates vendors for various Data Center related projects
    • Performs quality assurance on new customer installation or deployments

    Training

    • Completes all assigned training in a timely manner
    • May provide guidance and support to more junior team members and new hires

    Data Center Critical Facilities

    Job Summary

    Responsibilities

    Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance

    • Performs moderately difficult preventative and corrective maintenance checks on-site to facility components
    • Performs moderately difficult repairs, maintenance, installations and on-site inspections to facility systems. Supports energy efficiency measures
    • Monitors the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolves moderately difficult alarm issues issues that require judgement in resolving while following standard operating procedures
    • Operates and maintains plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems
    • Operates critical infrastructures under the supervision of more senior technical staff
    • Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments

    Vendor Support

    • Supports the work approval process for service providers on moderately difficult maintenance work, for tracking: briefing at the start of work, work during the day workday/shift and final review of the work carried out. Ensures vendor maintenance activities are carried out as per Equinix's standard operating procedures
    • In cooperation with vendors, supports modifications to technical files for plants and equipment ensuring files and builds are up-to-date

    Site Administration & Incident Support

    • Performs moderately difficult site logs for permits, such as Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOPs) and scripts
    • Identifies Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and makes recommendations
    • Responds to all moderately difficult on-site incidents, including failures, problems and delays
    • Uses substantial understanding in following operating procedures to support on-site administration

    Work Orders & Additional Projects

    • Completes routine work requests and circuit installations
    • Troubleshoots and maintains office equipment (if necessary); supports auxiliary equipment and machines with problem solving and repairs to avoid/minimize downtime
    • Makes minor changes to mechanical, electrical and specialized systems, as directed
    • Carries out infrastructure projects

    Collaboration

    • Collaborates with others to resolve moderately difficult facility incidents
    • Effectively collaborates within the department; may mentor team members on general maintenance activities
