    Supervisor Conventional Machining

    Main Purpose of this role:

    The main purpose of the Conventional Supervisor is to oversee all day-to-day running’s of the conventional machines which are being operated by our apprentices. Responsible for all training and guidance the apprentices might need with manufacturing parts for production.

    Your responsibilities:

    • Ensure that all the apprentices receive the basic training needs on the conventional lathe and milling machines.
    • Coach the apprentices in tool selection for various machining procedures
    • Training the apprentices in correct use of all measuring equipment.
    • Assist and train the apprentices on FLSmidth quality procedures.
    • Provide guidance with regards to feeds and speeds for various materials.
    • Ensure apprentices are trained on basic maintenance and housekeeping for the lathes and milling machines.
    • Responsible to make sure all parts are manufactured within the required times allocated.
    • Responsible for the development of the apprentices, prepare them with basic machining principles to prepare them for advance CNC machining.
    • Responsible for the maintenance and servicing of all conventional equipment to prevent premature failure.
    • Responsible for ensuring all apprentices have the correct tooling to perform their tasks to the highest quality standards.
    • Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and health policies, procedures and discipline within his responsible section.
    • Responsible for pre-planning of jobs so the apprentices are aware of their next job. To ensure all tooling and materials are ready for the next operation.
    • Ensure that the conventional machining area is clean and presentable to effectively perform the daily duties.
    • Performs other duties as and when required.

    What you bring

    • Trade test machining.
    • Minimum N3 technical qualification 
    • Ability to read, understand and interpret drawings.
    • Crane License / experience.
    • Rigger Training / experience.
    • Basic PC skills.
    • 5-10 Years in heavy engineering environment

    Shift Supervisor

    You will be part of the Sub-Saharan Africa Middle East and South Asia Regions Sampling Preparation and Analysis FLS Sampling Plant Saldanha team, who are dedicated to running an automated laboratory for our customers. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in a multinational organization and in an environment involving different cultures and different challenges.

    Your responsibilities

    • Completing all tasks on shift (3x3 roster – supervisor and 2x process controllers to handle all shift tasks)
    • Managing of the shift – leave, activities, etc.
    • Reporting of anomalies and performance of the plant - QMS
    • First line maintenance
    • Safety performance on shift
    • Communication – to seniors, clients and shifts

    What you bring

    • Qualification: Matric with Mathematics and Science
    • Minimum of 3-5 years working experience in the Laboratory with 3 of these in a Laboratory Operator/ Process Controller capacity.
    • A relevant tertiary qualification (chemistry / electrical / mechanical) would be advantageous
    • Self-motivated and well organized.
    • Computer literate.
    • Policies and Procedures – Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective operations
    • Skills: Attention to detail, Stress tolerance, Planning and organising, Self-motivated, Works independently, Strong interpersonal skills, Team player, Innovative
    • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in order to work with customers, contractors and other personnel on a daily basis.

    PCV Applications Engineer

    We are looking for highly and motivated, enthusiastic people who want to enter the mining industry as a part of our Applications Engineering Program in our KREBS Pumps, Cyclones, and Valves Global Product Line Management Department. Successful applications will undergo a structured long term training program under our global product experts with a target of developing technical support, technical sales, and product management abilities.     Your responsibilities

    Entry level position that undergoes a long-term training program under the Global Product Line Management Team for centrifugal slurry pumps, hydro cyclones, and knife gate valves to learn all aspects of technical and sales support. This includes evaluating applications to select proper equipment, trouble shooting, and performing basic system calculations.

    • Provide product technical support to sales and customers around the globe both onsite and online. This includes: Product sizing, Troubleshooting Wear Life Analysis, and Condition Monitoring Reports
    • Generate new and improve existing PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, and Excel tools to further sales efforts. This includes technical presentations, case studies, reference lists, etc.
    • Work closely with the Business Analytics, and Global Marketing teams to develop technical sales support programs and marketing materials.
    • Travel as required worldwide in the execution of the duties listed above, could be up to 30% of the time in the first year depending on the opportunities.
    • Have the ability to get along with others and work in a team environment.
    • Learn to be comfortable presenting in front of large groups of internal and customer audiences with a target of mastering expert level product training courses that could span for several hours.
    • Support Global Product Line Management strategic functions such as:
      • Pricing

      • Supply Chain

      • Inventory

      • Sales Support

      • Product Development and Product Launch

    What you bring

    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business with a strong science and math background (basic physics, algebra, and chemistry knowledge required) or equivalent education or experience

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    • Ability to live in the Johannesburg, South Africa area and work full time out of our Pumps, Cyclones, and Valves office in Johannesburg (this is not a remote position)
    • Willingness and ability to travel globally (up to 30% in the first 2 years)
    • Positive attitude and ability to work with others in a team environment
    • The ability to absorb and apply knowledge at a high rate
    • The desire to go above and beyond to drive positive change in our organization
