    Invitation to Serve on the Audit Committee Members (X5)

    • Section 166 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, 2003, requires Council to appoint an Audit Committee which will serve as an independent advisory body, in accordance with these provisions of the MFMA and Local Government Municipal Planning and Performance Management Regulation of 2006, the Greater Giyani Municipality seeks to appoint suitable qualified professionals to serve as Audit Committee members

    Requirements:

    • Relevant qualifications in any of the following: "Accounting, Financial Management, Internal Auditing. Auditing, Performance Management, Legal and Engineering "Minimum experience of 5 years in any of the folowing: Internal Auditing, Rask Management, Auditing, Accounting, Engineering, IT and/or Performance Management at senior management level. "Professional qualification will be an advantage Must be a member of a relevant professional body (SAICA, IA, IRMSA, ECSA etc) "in-depth understanding and experience of Municipal environment and relevant legislations.

    "Applicants will be subjected to security clearance.
    Functions: Successful candidates will be expected to render the following services: 

    • Advise the municipal Council, the accounting officer and management of the Municipality on the following matters: "Internal Control and Internal Audits "Risk Management "Performance Management "Effective governance "the Annual Division of Revenue "Performance evaluation "Review the annual financial statements to provide the Council with an authoritative and credible view of its financial position, its efficiency and effectiveness and its overall level of compliance with the MFMA, DORA and any other applicable legislation "Respond to the Greater Giyani Municipality on any issues raised by the Auditor General in the audit report "Carry out such investigations into the financial affairs of Greater Giyani Municipality which Counc may request and any other issues referred to it by the Municipality.

    Terms of Office and Remuneration:

    • The term of office for the appointed candidates will be three (3) years, thereafter, it will be subject to review by Council. However, successful candidates will not be allowed to serve in more than three (3) Audit Committees in Government to ensure effectiveness as contained in circular 65 of the MFMA Persons appointed will be remunerated in terms of the National Treasury Regulations at rates approved by Council

    Salary Scale:

    • R415 093.43-R493 728.79 per annum: post level 7 (Excluding Benefits).

    Appointment requirements: 

    • E-Tech/National Diploma in Civil Engineering/Project Management 2-3 years relevant experience in PMU. "Driver license is essential.

    1x ICT Network and Server Administrator

    Salary Scale:

    • R506 010.98-RS45 150.13 per annum post level 5. Car Allowance: 811 000 p/a (excluding other Benefits) post level 5.

    Appointment Requirements:

    • National diploma in Information Technology/Computer science, Certificate such as Security+(plus), MCSE will be added as advantage. Three (3) years IT experience. Sound knowledge of IT network and systems. "Driver's license.

    Responsibilities:

    • "Development of policy and strategies to manage the information Technology and communication (CT) system and network of the municipality and ensure its proper functioning" To ensure that a content and productive worldorce is developed and maintained by the division." Provide support, maintenance and advice to departments of the council in order to establish an effective IT usage, to inform users of IT and to provide effective service. To ensure that effective systems are maintained and comply with the set standards. To ensure the necessary protection of the IT network and that securities comply with and in place for any contingency management approach. To ensure sufficient and effective communication. Report and liaise to ensure proper reporting and execution of the division's functional obligations. "Provide staff supervision.

    Salary Scale:

    • 100 000 P/A

    Appointment Requirements:

    • Three (3) year Degree National Diploma/ Computer Science in Information Technology No experience required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Accounts administration on active directory. Monitoring antivirus and backups Desktop and network printer installation and maintenance. Attending user queries Software installation. "Colaborating with ICT colleagues in ICT issues that arise and possible solutions.
