Experience

• 3 years’ demonstrated experience in Underground explosives mining environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of performing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance
• Demonstrating ability to train new equipment operators

Duties

• Testing and Quality Assurance of the product
• Transferring of Megapump from surface silos transfer cassettes and Emulsion Charging Units
• Usage of portable charging units in narrow reef operations
• Maintenance of charging unit
• Undertake benchmarkings on daily blasting activities throughout underground operations
• Cultivates a culture among staff of neatness, cleanliness, and orderliness in line with SHERQ requirements
• Ensures that first-line supervision conduct regular inspections of sites, vehicles and equipment and that they ensure that standards are maintained
• Oversee the maintenance, inspections and production schedules of equipment and vehicles
• Demonstrate the correct method for transporting emulsion technology
• Demonstrate the correct method of operating emulsion pumps
• Demonstrate the correct method for loading a blastface
• Manage quality control in daily operations
• Provide training for mine personnel
• Monitor and support daily charging operations
• Repair and maintain emulsion equipment underground
• Demonstrate the ability to support emulsion blasting operations without supervision
• Lead a team of BME personnel in the technical support of underground blasting operations

Qualifications

Experience

• 2 years’ demonstrated experience in Underground Explosives Mining environment
• 1 year demonstrated experience on MEGAMITE

Duties

• Implementing and maintaining BME products and equipment underground and on surface
• Doing daily underground benchmarking on the product advances and giving feedback with pictures and explanations
• Ensuring daily coaching, training in all working areas on surface and underground with all BME products and equipment used
• Employee and workplaces must be kept in order, neat, clean and in line with SHEQ trained requirements
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness on all the charging up equipment used
• Needs to give training on BME product and machinery to the clients

Qualifications

• EC1 Licence
• Dangerous Goods and Passengers permit (DGP)
• Experience
• The candidate needs to have a minimumof 3 years Truck Driving experience (preferably in the mining environment)
• 5 years’ experience in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles (EC1)
• Knowledge of Ms Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email) is advantageous 

Duties

• Conducting  the prescribed pre-use inspections and completion of the checklist prior to use of the truck
• Ensuring that immediate corrections or repairs must be brought about before driving off when any problems in the red category are detected
• Makes the necessary corrections or repairs in the event of detecting any problems in the blue category, on site if possible, otherwise to report this for correction within 24 hours
• Signs the checklist and ensures that it is also signed by the Foreman and the mechanic
• Calibrates the instrumentation on the truck plant to ensure that all metrics remain correct or after major repairs were done on the vehicle, on a monthly basis
• Cleans the vehicle on an ongoing basis so that it is presentable in the eye of the public and takes personal pride in it
• Completes for Truck Performance administration daily
• Greases, captures and signs off the truck on a weekly basis
• Calibrates the sample required scale daily
• Drives the truck safely and responsibly in all weather conditions and on all road surface conditions when picking up or delivering product to the blasting site that they are  responsible for
• Ensures that all the prescribed legal paperwork is in truck (e.g., copies of manufacturing permits, CTP, TTP, as stated in work instruction)
• Supervises the loading of the truck at the silos with the required product by the Truck Assistant
