    General Assistant

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 with Mathematics
    • Code 08 / Code B Licence
    • Magazine Master Ticket
    • Blasting assistant certificate (MQA)
    • Stemming Loader

    Experience

    • Previous experience in blasting / mining environment
    • 2 years blasting assistant experience

    Duties

    • Risk assessment and Safe work declarations to be done with the blaster at the place of work before entering workplace as per client requirements.
    • Assisting the blaster for preparing the blast / charge-up area by meeting all the statutory, legal, client and BME requirements/standards/prescriptions
    • Together with the Blaster, inspects the site to determine the target block and to plan the blasting process
    • Marks off the working area by erecting the prescribed barricading material as prescribed by the client
    • Required to map the holes to ensure that all the required holes correctly placed
    • Required to measure and check the depth of the holes, and to ensure that they are all correctly drilled within the prescribed parameters
    • In the event of detecting any deviations from prescriptions, responsible for behaving assertively and taking the necessary steps to rectify matters, e.g., by interacting and communicating to mine staff, drill contractor or the Foreman
    • On instruction from the Blaster, required to collect the correct accessories to carry out the blasting assignment successfully
    • Responsible to place all detonators and boosters at the collar of the hole to prepare for priming of the blast holes as per the blast plan issued by the mine.
    • Responsible for priming the holes by carefully inserting detonators into boosters, attaching weigh-down material to the primer, and lower this primer in the hole under the supervision of the blaster.

    Qualifications

    • Matric (Maths and Science)
    • Degree / BTech or Diploma in related industry

    Experience

    • 5-8 years’ experience in related industry (Chemical Industry)
    • Previous experience in team management 

    Duties

    Drive high performance targets with the team

    • Conduct shift meeting and performance review
    • Identify deviations, their root causes and take corrective action
    • Ensure cross functional team have good synergies
    • Review expense report and corrects deviations
    • Correct performance deviations
    • Communicate progress to performance indicators to all levels
    • Ensure reliability and dependability of processes
    • Optimise Shift production throughput
    • Ensure stability of processes
    • Managing costs according to budget

    Effective People Management

    • Coaching, structured training such as PTO's, structured meetings, JO's
    • Frequent engagement
    • Audits, spot checks, checklists, communicates company rules and regulations to team
    • Ensure and develop team competency
    • Ensure morale of team
    • Manage team performance through performance management processes, i.e. ER & EDD
    • Enforce company rules and regulations
    • Resource management (leave, etc.)

    To ensure Quality adherence on shift

    • Monitor and take corrective action on quality deviations
    • Audits, spot checks, checklists, communicates ISO standards
    • Ensure product is on specification
    • Ensure ISO compliance of all activities

    Oversee plant conditions and general plant availability enabling the production of good quality product

    • Oversee shifts as well as maintenance and shutdowns
    • Manage stock and production declaration

    Adequate & systematic Administration

    • Proper written communication and interpretation
    • Network with support functions to resolve human capital, process and plant related issues
    • Sending emails, running meetings, text, social media savvy

    Oversee the loading of trucks and count of stock in staging area

    • Documentation of loads loading out
    • Supervision of Plant Operators

    Operator 3

    Qualifications

    • Grade12/Matric (Maths and Science)

    Experience

    • 2-5 Years related industry experience 

    Duties

    Complete manual tasks

    • Hooking bags, loading of product, packing of bags
    • Sampling, visual quality checks, cleaning
    • Report safety, quality issues

    To ensure Safety adherence on shift

    • Housekeeping
    • Raise tags and conversation cards
    • Identify hazards
    • Basic process safety knowledge
    • Basic Firefighting, first aid knowledge

    Drive high performance targets with the team

    • Maintaining specific unit operation performance e.g. screen operator, raw material hoist operator
    • Work well in a team
    • Report back on status of his/her area of responsibility
    • Escalate deviations
    • Attend shift and team meetings
    • Autonomous maintenance (Inspections, Cleaning, Lubrication)
    • Shift handover report for his/her area of responsibility

    Financial Accountant

    Qualifications

    • BCom Accounting
    • Big 4 Company Articles advantageous
    • CIMA qualifications

    Experience

    • A minimum of 2 –4 years’ experience at a similar level
    • Previous experience of working within a large finance or audit team is beneficial
    • Previous experience in Capex and Fixed Assets will be advantageous

    Duties

    • Support the Financial Manager with the day to day activities and reporting and assisting head office staff with technical matters
    • Support staff activities with maintaining, analyzing and reporting on financial accounting data.
    • Establish necessary financial controls, approve various expenditures and obligations, provide support for both internal and external audits and ensure all activities conform to statutory legislation, company policies and procedures.
    • Review monthly management accounts and ensure adequate explanations for over/ under expenditure
    • Compile Annual Budgets
    • Preparation of Audit and Tax packs
    • Monthly presentation of Capex to Monthly Steerco
    • Vat completion
    • Balance sheet reconciliations on Fixed assets
    • Month end closure of fixed assets
    • Prepare and submit ad-hoc financial reports required by Omnia Group
    • Provide assistance to the various business units on budgets, expenses, margins and technical accounting matters
    • Month-end processing
    • Adhoc financial responsibilities
