    Safety Officer

    Purpose of the role:

    • To assist the manager with the day-to-day management of all health and safety compliance matters. Hold the legal appointment in terms of the MHS Act regulation 2.17.1 (Appointment of Safety Officers). Carry out all duties and functions of the Safety Officer as contemplated in the MHS Act regulation 2.19.1.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Effective implementation and monitoring of all safety processes.
    • Participate in the internal risk assessment process.
    • Conduct inspections to determine and improve the level of compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Investigate accidents and incidents.
    • Inform stakeholders with regard to the status of health and safety at the Mine.
    • Accompany the inspector of Mines during compliance inspections on the mine and participate in DMRE enquiries.
    • Participate in SHE-related meetings and safety awareness campaigns.
    • Gather input/data for SHE reports and statistics according to organisational requirements.
    • Conduct internal audits according to organisational procedures and legislative requirements.
    • Maintain the SHE Risk Management System according to organisational requirements.
    • Log inspections, incidents, accidents, and audits.
    • Effective Contractor safety management.
    • Emergency Preparedness and Response.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • National Diploma in Safety Management (NADSAM) or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety
    • 5 years’ experience in a Plant and Open Cast mining environment
    • Risk Assessment Training
    • Environmental Awareness Training Course
    • COMSOC I & II (Advantage)
    • Competent A Certificate (Advantage)
    • Advanced computer literacy
    • Accident investigations (ICAM/RCAT)
    • First Aid Training
    • OHSAS 18001 auditing skills (advantageous)
    • Sound verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Able to work under minimal supervision

    Assistant Auto Electrical Mechanic

    Purpose of the role:

    • To assist with the installation, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of auto electrical systems on mobile crushing and screening equipment to ensure maximum plant availability, safe operation, and minimal downtime.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Auto Electrical Assistance:

    • Assist the Auto Electrician with electrical maintenance on mobile crushers, screens, and support equipment.

    Assist with fault finding on:

    • Wiring harnesses
    • Sensors and control systems
    • Lighting systems
    • Starter motors and alternators
    • Batteries and charging systems
    • Assist with installation and repairs of electrical components.
    • Support diagnostics using basic testing equipment.
    • Assist with cable routing, repairs, and component replacement.

    Plant & Equipment Support:

    • Assist with electrical inspections during scheduled maintenance.
    • Conduct pre-start electrical checks on equipment.
    • Report electrical faults and abnormal equipment behaviour.
    • Assist with breakdown response and repairs.

    Operational Support:

    • Assist operators with basic troubleshooting.
    • Support plant start-up and shutdown procedures where required.
    • Maintain clean and safe work areas around equipment.

    Safety & Compliance:

    • Adhere to Mine Health & Safety Act requirements.
    • Follow lock-out and isolation procedures.
    • Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
    • Identify and report unsafe electrical conditions.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 / NQF Level 4.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an auto electrical or heavy equipment environment.
    • Basic knowledge of 12V and 24V auto electrical systems.
    • Experience working on mobile mining or construction equipment is advantageous.
    • Medically fit for a mining environment.

    Mechanic Assistant / Plant Operator

    Purpose of the role:

    • The Assistant Mechanic supports maintenance activities while operating crushing and screening equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant production. The role combines mechanical assistance with operational responsibilities on mobile crushers, screens, and associated equipment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Operate mobile crushing and screening equipment safely and efficiently.
    • Conduct pre-start inspections and daily equipment checks.
    • Monitor plant performance and report abnormalities immediately.
    • Adjust plant settings to maintain production targets and product quality.
    • Maintain housekeeping standards around the plant and work areas.
    • Assist with plant start-up and shutdown procedures.
    • Mechanical Assistance.
    • Assist mechanics with planned and breakdown maintenance.
    • Support repairs on crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, and related equipment.
    • Perform basic mechanical tasks such as:
    • Changing screens and crusher liners
    • Greasing and lubrication
    • Belt tracking and adjustments
    • Basic component replacement
    • Assist with fault finding and reporting mechanical issues.
    • Safety & Compliance
    • Comply with Mine Health & Safety Act and site safety procedures.
    • Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
    • Identify and report unsafe conditions.
    • Ensure lock-out and isolation procedures are followed during maintenance.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 / NQF Level 4.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in crushing and screening or a similar mining environment.
    • Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with tools.
    • Experience operating mobile crushers and screens is advantageous.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Medically fit for a mining environment.

    Competencies & Skills

    Purpose of the role:

    • To maintain acceptable efficiency standards of Sales, offer outstanding customer service to all, and receive orders from customers and representatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain existing customer base and increase customer base monthly.
