    Unit Manager: Financial Services

    ​Your key responsibilities will be:

    • Budget Management
    • Forecasting and Reporting

    To qualify, you must have:

    • BCom Honours Degree with specialisation in Finance/ Accounting/Management Accounting/Public Sector Finance or related qualification (NQF Level 8)
    • A minimum of 5 years in Management Accounting of which 2 years must be managerial experience.
    • This position is subject to a 6 months’ probation period.

    You must also demonstrate knowledge and experience in:

    • Knowledge of Parliamentary policies, systems, procedures and National Treasury guidelines and regulations.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the FMPPLA and the relevant management guidelines, principles, and procedures.
    • Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant financial regulations, particularly as they apply to consolidation and divisional environments.
    • Knowledge of Lean principles and cost optimization techniques.
    • Strong knowledge and experience in Enterprise Resource Planning in Finance (Oracle SAP, etc), including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and Oracle.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent planning and organising skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    Chief Legal Adviser: Parliament

    Detailed Description

    As a successful candidate your key responsibilities will be to: 

    • Provide Strategic Planning and management of the Constitutional and Legal Services; 
    • Provide legal advice and support to Parliament (Houses, Presiding Officers and Committees), Executive Authority and the Secretary to Parliament; 
    • Lead and oversee the management of litigation and disputes involving Parliament; 
    • Lead and oversee the editing and processing of legislation before Parliament; 
    • Lead the provision of corporate legal advice and services for the Administration of Parliament 
    • Operational Management of the workstreams in the Division; and 
    • Human Resources, Records and Financial Management.

    Job Requirements

    To qualify, you must have a minimum of: 

    • LLB Degree at an NQF level 8. 
    • A Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) is highly advantageous. Specialisation in Constitutional/Public Law will be a distinct advantage. 
    • A minimum of 10 years post-admission legal advisory or legal practice experience, of which at least 5 years must have been in a Public Service environment, and at an executive level; and 
    • Admission as an advocate with right of appearance in the High Court of South Africa.
