    Seafreight Manager

    Job Description

    • We’re looking for a dynamic Seafreight Manager with strong forwarding experience to enhance our seafreight offering and support our expanding customer base.
    • This role is for our JHB Seafreight branch based in Linbro Park.

    Education

    • Grade 12 Certificate
    • 3-year freight forwarding related qualification at NQF level 6

    Knowledge and experience

    • 10 years Seafreight experience in Freight Forwarding Industry of which 5 years were in a supervisory capacity
    • INCO Terms
    • Process knowledge on the movement of goods throughout the supply chain
    • Basic international trade principles. Container understanding/usage
    • Rate and proposal implementation and maintenance
    • Understanding of international currencies
    • Customs and other statutory parastatals cargo clearance procedure
    • Freight forwarding and clearing document flow procedure. Geography
    • Critical thinking skills, problem solving techniques, excellent time management skills
    • Delegating, coaching, mentoring and counselling
    • Encouraging-motivating a comfortable working environment
    • The ability to organise a team effectively and efficiently
    • Execution of functional business objectives and strategies
    • Computer literacy (Ms Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
    • International Trade principles and procedures. External Business Environment
    • Customer centric. Good communication skills (Verbal and Written)
    • Action and result orientation. Sound Administration skills
    • Financial acumen. Change management ambassadors
    • Managing and resolving conflict

    Senior Forwarding Controller

    Job Description

    • Join our team as a Senior Forwarding Controller and bring your forwarding expertise to ensure operational excellence. This role for our JHB Seafreight Branch but can be based in JHB OR Durban

    Education

    • Matric
    • 3-year freight forwarding related qualification at NQF level 3 or NQF level 4 or equivalent.

    Knowledge and experience

    3 years import experience in the Clearing and Forwarding Industry in a clerical capacity

    • INCO Terms
    • To co-ordinate the freight movement of Import cargo through the international transport chain in terms of the client’s import requirements.
    • Commercial, transport, carrier & depot and statutory body documents & stamps
    • Product specific freight handling & movement requirements. Basic international trade principles
    • Applicable sections of Import & Export control Act
    • Containerisation practice. Geography
    • Functional business objectives and strategies
    • Company service charge. Rate structure
    • Carrier & depot conditions of trade
    • Tariff calculation concepts.National currencies and international codes
    • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Lotus)
    • Problem solving skills and decision-making skills.Planning and organising
    • Ability to handle pressure and change. Attention to detail
    • Good Interpersonal skills
    • Good communication skills (written &verbal
    • Situation analysis.Client orientation
    • Accuracy, Punctual.
