    Reaction Team Officer

    Purpose

    • To provide an effective first line response capability in security emergencies within the South African Bank Note Company.

    Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Rapidly respond to and contain physical security threats within the perimeter of the National Key Point.
    • Contain the emergency situation & physical security threat, handover situation to the SAPS and Emergency Services.
    • Provide tactical security support to the broader SARB Group as and when required, including during disasters.
    • Perform duties of a security official in the absence of an emergency.
    • Provide initial medical assistance in the event of a medical emergency.
    • Provide management information for the purposes of decision making.
    • Proactively broaden knowledge of own functional area, displaying a willingness to make improvements (including methods and practices).

    The Preferred candidate is likely to have:

    • Grade 12
    • Basic Tactical Security Training Certificate (BTST)
    • PSIRA Grade C
    • Firearm competency certificate
    • National Key Point Registration (Added advantage)
    • 3-5 years’ experience in security industry
    • Level of medical, physical and psychological fitness that is commensurate with the inherent requirements of the role
    • Favourable security clearance
    • Valid Code 8 driver’s license

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Fire Fighting and First Aid
    • Physical security

    Security Official

    Purpose:

    • To protect and safeguard the facilities, personnel, information & assets of the South African Bank Note Company (SABN).

    Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Conduct a tactical security threat assessment in the area of operation to support the protection function.
    • Conduct access and egress control of the area of operation.
    • Control all security systems and signals in the areas of responsibility.
    • Ensure the safeguarding of the area of operation.
    • Identify and respond to emergencies & implement contingency plans.
    • Maintain compliance with relevant legislative requirements.
    • Comply with SABN prescribed inherent job requirements including Fit for Deployment Program (FFD).
    • Comply with SABN policies and legislative requirements in order to adequately mitigate risk & achieve the business objectives.

    Qualifications and experience:

    • Grade 12
    • Firearm competency certificate
    • 2-3 years’ experience as a Security Official
    • PSIRA Grade C (Desirable)

    Shift Control Officer

    Job Summary:

    • We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for supervising, managing & control the protection and safeguarding of equipment, information, premises, personnel, visitors & contractors against any internal and external threat. 

    Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Provide inputs to protection services operational plan and proactively mitigate emerging risks.
    • Supervise the protection and safeguarding of facilities, personnel & assets and ensure proper functioning of access control equipment at the beginning of each shift. 
    • Ensure the protection of the facility by deploying sufficient members per shift, while considering the fair distribution of overtime management and adherence to the required rest periods.
    • Manage the security deployment during an emergency evacuation in accordance with the emergency management plan.
    • Conduct on job training for all PSD operational staff.
    • Manage team members’ performance and ensure that objectives are met. 
    • Ensure that the team members comply with security industry specific legislative requirements, GSMD requirements and SABN policies and procedures.
    • To assist the administrator with the management of time and attendance.

    Qualifications and experience:

    • Grade 12.
    • National Diploma in Security Management/Risk Management/Policing/Criminology.
    • Registration with Private Security Industry Regulator Authority (PSIRA) (Grade A or B).
    • A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in an advanced security environment with at least 2 years supervisory experience.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    Internship: Laboratory Analyst

    Job Description

    • The South African Bank Note Company (SABN), a fully owned subsidiary of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), is a highly competitive security printing company, which competes on a global scale using the latest high-tech modern technology and machinery.
    • SABN is currently looking for a high performing graduate to join the internship programme, which offers an opportunity to acquire skills and practical work experience in the field of research and development, specifically within a laboratory environment. The duration of the programme will be 12 months, consisting of practical and on-the-job training.

    Requirements:

    • Matric certificate
    • National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry
    • Must have completed the qualification

    Planner Maintenance

    Purpose:

    • To oversee and coordinate physical asset management systems within the PEM department, i.e. to plan, schedule, monitor and report maintenance activities for plant, equipment and machinery to achieve targeted machine availability for the manufacturing plant and equipment.

    Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Oversee and coordinate the maintenance planning system including routine work management for the relevant area.
    • Liaise with Engineers, Technicians and Artisans to schedule and plan maintenance activities (preventatives, correctives, and other proactive maintenance).
    • Coordinate and control data mining and analytics from plant, equipment and machinery to enhance scheduling and planning of maintenance activities.
    • In collaboration with Finance, oversee the asset register for all physical assets and ensure all assets have preventative maintenance schedules.
    • Administer and support the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) on the ERP system.
    • Coordinate the inventory management process to ensure availability of spares, consumables, and new stock items.
    • Compile and present performance reports i.e. Weekly scheduling compliance; Monthly plant availability statistics; and Quarterly departmental performance reports.
    • Establish and maintain the filing system for maintenance planning, including relevant document control.
    • Coordinate PEM assurance audit activities and liaise with Auditors during audit planning and execution.
    • Coordinate input into the annual budget and support the department with cost control by tracking against budget.
    • Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental and quality (SHEQ) processes.
    • Ensure adherence to governance, risk, compliance with regulatory requirements (GRC) and procurement processes.
    • Ensure compliance with legislation and company policies, practices and procedures.
    • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders within the department and inter-departmental.
    • Coordinate weekly maintenance planning meetings.
    • Provide input into continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance planning.
    • Perform reasonable value-add ad-hoc duties or activities that are beyond normal scope of work, when requested
    • All work and behaviour are aligned to SABN values.

    The Preferred Candidate is likely to have:

    • National Diploma in Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial (Essential)
    • BTech in Engineering (Desirable)
    • Certificate in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling (Essential)
    • 3 - 5 years in maintenance planning (JDE/SAP system) (Essential)
    • 5 - 8 years as Maintenance Technician/ Coordinator/ Artisan (Desirable)
    • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993
    • SHEQ management systems: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
    • CMMS in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems i.e. SAP, JDE
    • Asset life cycle management (ALM) principles
    • Asset care management principles as per ISO 55 000 standard
    • Technology Tools or Software for Business Analytics and Reporting
    • Mechanical or Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
