Responsibilities:
Performing analysis

• Conduct simple and complex tests independently
• Conduct trouble shooting

Verification of results

• Responsible for the verification of results

Technical improvements 

• Improve laboratory efficiency

Adherence to turnaround times

• Ensuring adherence to departmental TAT’s
• Early warnings to direct supervisor of any delay on TAT

Instrument monitoring and maintenance

• Oversee instrument operations
• Responsible for the upkeep of laboratory instruments
• Cleaning and disinfection of equipment
• Notification to management of calibration and service requests

Organizational Health and Safety, and quality assurance

• Ensure that all analysis and related tasks are performed in accordance with OHS and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures
• Implementation of quality TAT corrective actions for area of responsibility
• Maintaining acceptable proficiency scores for work conducted

Cost management

• Ensure correct stock levels are maintained effectively for testing

Training and Development

• Ensure that laboratory required training courses are successfully completed
• Identify and motivate additional training requests to line manager for approval

Client liaison

• Ensure good working relationships with internal clients

General and Business Development

• Undertake all activities as per the required standards, policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with the requirements of AssureCloud’s Quality System, brand, methodology and contribute to the development thereof when required
• Adhere to the delegation of authority as per company policy
• Timely completion of all reporting requirements and responses to any team member as required
• Ensure all expenses are recorded and reported accurately and timeously and within budget
• Ensure all IT tools provided by the company are utilized effectively and as required by company policy and procedure
• Ensure effectiveness in day-to-day operations, in an organized and coordinated fashion at all times.
• Ensure that all company standards and policies are met
• Wider involvement in AssureCloud:
• Work collaboratively as part of AssureCloud. This requires the incumbent to be decisive and thought provoking, while also accepting collective responsibility for decisions taken

Requirements

Qualifications:

• National Diploma or Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Food Technology.
• Additional certifications in ISO 17025, GLP, or SANAS-accredited microbiology courses (advantageous).

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably in food safety testing.
• Experience with LIMS and sample registration processes (advantageous).
• Proven track record of working within ISO 17025 accredited environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and advanced veterinary diagnostic tests, including serology, molecular diagnostics, and bacteriology.
• Verify, interpret, and troubleshoot diagnostic results to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Receive, register, and process samples in the LIMS, maintaining full traceability.
• Maintain laboratory instruments, including cleaning, calibration, and servicing.
• Ensure timely reporting of results, manage turnaround times, and implement corrective actions where needed.
• Adhere to OHS, SANAS, and AssureCloud quality standards in all diagnostic processes.
• Manage stock and consumables to support uninterrupted testing.
• Communicate professionally with veterinarians, clients, and internal teams.
• Participate in ongoing training to maintain SAVC registration and diagnostic expertise.
• Support AssureCloud’s values, ethics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• BHSc in Veterinary Technology or Sciences, or a Diploma/Degree in Veterinary Science or Veterinary Technology.

 Experience:

• 1–2 years of experience in a serology, molecular diagnostics, bacteriology or virology laboratory environment.
• Experience as a SANAS Technical Signatory (advantageous).
• Experience with ISO 17025 accredited labs (advantageous).

Develop Business with Chinese Enterprises in Southern Africa district

• Develop relationships and drive business with Chinese enterprises in South Africa, extending beyond current Safety SA portfolios.

Joint Development of New Business Lines

• Collaborate with Safety SA teams to identify and drive development of new services and strategic projects.

Coordinate CTI Group Resources & Support Local Capability Building

• Coordinate CTI HQ and BU resources to support project execution and help BUs build local capabilities in Southern Africa district.

Develop Strategic & Institutional Partnerships

• Establish strategic partnerships with Chinese chambers, government bodies, associations, and key clients.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights

• Monitor market trends and provide analysis to support regional strategy.

KPIs include:

• New client acquisition.
• New revenue.
• Success of business development with Chinese enterprises.
• Effectiveness of new business launches.
• Relevant BU capability establishment progress.
• Quality of market intelligence.

 Requirements

• Must be fluent in Mandarin.
• Sales or Business Development experience within the mining sector.
• Understanding of SHEQ / HSE Management systems.
• ESG experience advantageous.
