    SAICA Trainee

    This is a three-year training programme to become certified as a Chartered accountant with SAICA (The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants):

    • Based in Accounting & Controlling.
    • Rotation in other business divisions, business units or corporate support functions to gain core competencies.,

    How You’ll Make an Impact  

    • Plans, prepares, and consolidates balance sheet and P&L statements and reports, according to relevant accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP, local standard etc)
    • Prepares reports for division or support function management
    • Analyse and evaluate assets and liabilities
    • Prepares various entities and branches annual financial statements
    • Co-operates with vendors, clients in reconciling the account status, on an accountable level
    • Keeps abreast with changes of internal guidelines and external accounting standards, and prepares and presents training
    • Review and update published guidelines relevant to the Company
    • Issue and implement new accounting guidelines
    • Investigates project and other adhoc queries from the divisions and support functions
    • Plan and prepare budgets and forecast for corporate units
    • Capture budget and forecast into Spiridon and ESPRIT
    • Allocate Infrastructure costs as per approved budget for distribution to divisions
    • Provide support to colleagues in the other African countries
    • Provide support to corporate units with respect to specialised reporting required by Head Quarter such as ADSTAR reporting
    • Proactively understand and implement Support Function and Financial Reporting Guideline requirements
    • Ensures that all SAICA learning requirements technically and professionally are met with in the relevant time period.

    Digitalization Professional Intern

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Identify and drive digitalization opportunities for in the business units, in accounting and controlling and other support function departments
    • Implementation of automation of standard processes with Alteryx/UiPath
    • Development of new dashboards and enhancement of existing dashboards
    • Introduction of new tools for the entire business unit in alignment with accounting function
    • Preparation and facilitation of digitalization workshops
    • Definition and execution of global trainings for new tools and workflows
    • Ensuring data quality for standard reports including their analysis
    • Special projects related to data analytics, digitalization, and automation

    Communication:

    • Effectively communicate highly technical information to functional, technical team members and management.
    • Communicate issues and solutions in a clear and concise manner
    • Interact with end user, peers, and management personnel to resolve issues
    • Effective in interacting with users when designing, documenting, completing, and testing assignments
    • Maintain a positive attitude when dealing with others in a pressured environment

    Capabilities and Credentials:

    • Database and application development experience using formal software development life cycle
    • Experience in designing, developing and implementing integration programs between SAP, and Data-lake using API’s
    • The ideal candidate has the ability to work with professionalism and confidentiality, and is able to work independently and adapt to change in a very dynamic environment
    • Translate company and customer (business) needs into functional and appealing interactive applications
    • Technical quality assurance through quality coding standards and automation testing
    • Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware systems or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance
    • Coding and determining the technical requirements from clients
    • Solving code problems

    What You Bring 

    • IT diploma/bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Visual studio development
    • 2+ years’ experience as a VB/VB.Net/C#/Phyton Developer or equivalent
    • 2+ years’ experience developing programs using VB.Net and SQL
    • Exposure to both front-end and backend systems
    • Agile methodology
