    Marketing Intern :Takealot for Business

    Payroll & Benefits Manager

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Payroll Management:

    • Manage an end-to-end payroll service.
    • Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions and any other payroll related payment. 
    • Provide an accurate, timely and compliant company payroll services
    • Develop and direct the preparation of payroll and related reports
    • Manage payroll schedules and ensure timely payment to all employees
    • Provide specialised payroll and deduction information and assistance as required
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and requirements.
    • Manage the development and implementation of all Payroll related policies and procedures. 
    • Ensure accurate payroll reporting. 
    • Assist the Group CFO and CFOs of BU’s by reporting on variances on payroll input and data.
    • Respond to payroll related questions or needs regarding compliance or regulations utilising payroll resources available
    • Ensure the resolution of all payroll related issues utilizing payroll policies and procedures. 
    • Participate in the annual increase process in collaboration with the Analytics team.
    • Implement the annual salary increases.
    • Establish/maintain employee records that relate to payroll and ensure that they are accurately filed and available to the HR team. 
    • Maintaining and storing of payroll data, providing the system that safeguard the payroll data and documentation. 

    Payroll System Management:

    • Manages the payroll system and reviews enhancements/changes for development and implementation in the business.
    • Review and amend payroll processes, policies and procedures as required within a changing environment.

    Benefits Management:

    • Manage the development, implementation and administration of all Employee benefits for the Group.
    • Manage the development and implementation of benefits policies and procedures
    • Manage the relationship with benefits service providers as required.
    • Ensure that all benefits comply with legal requirements.
    • Conduct an annual review on rates and application and ensure that best practice is maintained. 

    Compliance and Reporting:

    • Manage the annual internal and external payroll and related audits. 
    • Assist in providing documentation and reports to internal and external sources during the annual audit process.
    • Ensure accuracy of legislative reporting of all employees in all required reports.
    • Create ad hoc reports for HR, Finance and Exco within designated HRIS/Payroll system as and when required
    • Responsible for all legislative reporting involving payroll and benefits related matters. 
    • Resolve complex employee requests and perform internal control responsibilities.
    • Upon request, assist in gathering payroll data for inclusion in financial statements. 
    • Researching and preparing special reports for management.
    • Manage the COIDA relationship with the selected service provider and administer the audit for the Group.
    • Report on payroll metrics, provide insights and make corrective recommendations. 

    Leadership:

    • Manage and lead the team of payroll officers 
    • Train and mentor, the Payroll Officers and suggest training intervention to upskill and develop them to keep relevant at all times.
    • Train HR team members in specific areas of payroll, benefits and reporting.

    Qualification & Experience:

    • Degree or Advanced Diploma in an HR/Financial-related field.
    • A minimum of 7-10 years payroll experience that include benefits administration. 
    • Knowledge of Payspace or other payroll systems.
    • 3-4 years’ experience leading a payroll/finance team.
    • Advanced Excel (V-lookups, pivot tables and graphs) /Google suite 
    • Finance experience will be an added advantage.
    • Reporting experience.
    • Benefits management and administration.

    • Policy Simplification: Translate complex regulatory updates or white papers into digestible Executive Summaries or infographics for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Case Studies: Interview SME across the ecosystem to develop a library of success stories that support the Group's economic inclusion narrative.
    • Newsletter Management: Curate and draft a regular Public Affairs internal update to keep the wider Group informed on social impact milestones.

    Public Affairs & Policy Support

    • Advocacy Material: Assist in preparing briefing notes, presentations, and "Leave-Behind" documents for meetings with government stakeholders.

    Administrative & Implementation Support

    • Event Coordination: Provide logistical support for public affairs events, such as site visits to Distribution Centres for government officials or community workshops.
    • Meeting Management: Schedule stakeholder engagements, prepare agendas, and ensure accurate minutes are taken and distributed.
    • Budget Tracking: Assist in managing the administrative side of CSI (Corporate Social Investment) spend, including processing invoices and tracking project-related expenses.
    • Reporting: Collate data and evidence for the Annual Sustainability Report and other ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) disclosures.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    Sustainability Internship

    Requirements:

    Qualifications & Experience:

    Currently studying or recently completed a qualification in N6 in any of the following:

    • Data science
    • Data engineering
    • Operations research
    • Statistics
    • Sustainability (Environmental Science, Sustainable Development or related fields)
    • Basic understanding of Application Programming Interfaces, Google Big Query and Sustainability (ESG) impact reporting is advantageous.
    • No formal work experience required, but internships, campus projects, or online certifications are beneficial.

    Loss Prevention Lead

    Your responsibilities will include:

    DC Operations Manager

    Your responsibilities will include: 

    • Develop and execute functional operational plans that support business strategy and enable the distribution center to meet budgets, goals, targets, and due dates
    • Implement and maintain all required systems, processes, and procedures within the distribution center
    • Develop standard operating procedures for all areas and monitor and enforce compliance
    • Maximise the efficiency and productivity levels of the operation, ensure compliance with agreed standards, continuously seek to optimize processes, and find value opportunities for the division
    • Manage and report on Service Level Agreements (including overseeing management information reports if relevant)
    • Perform financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of data for the distribution center
    • Build effective, value-adding, transparent relationships with all stakeholders (customers, suppliers, and employees) through regular communication, reporting,and personal interaction
    • Evaluate technology and capital requirements as determined by the tactical plan of the division
    • Oversee the day-to-day activities of teams within the distribution center, scheduling employees where required, and ensuring optimal productivity

    • Ensure all employees are suitably qualified and trained for their positions
    • Ensure that distribution services meet quality standards and customer requirements and that customer satisfaction levels meet agreed targets

    • Ensure that deliveries are on time as per agreed targets, improving processes where needed, and liaising with service providers to optimize processes 
    • Manage and report on the operational budget, managing costs to ensure that costs are in line with budget (egpackaging costs, transport costs)
    • Ensure that stock discrepancies are minimized by overseeing and putting in place effective Stock Control processes
    • Effective management of projects within the distribution center by meeting requirements of projects and adhering to deadlines
    • Identify potential risks that might affect the successful operation of the distribution centre, and put strategies and processes in place to mitigate these risks
    • Continuously assess processes and systems, and look for innovative ways to improve or introduce new processes, systems, and methods that will assist the distribution center in operating more effectively
    • Stay abreast of, evaluate, and implement appropriate modern world-class thinking in terms of distribution to ensure efficient, effective, and world-class operations

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree qualification in logistics/supply chain management
    • 5-8 years of experience in logistics/distribution.
    • Experience in managing teams
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Health and Safety
    • legislation, and labor legislation.
    • Knowledge of distribution processes/operations
    • Proficient in relevant computer packages and applications
