    Accountant M/F

    Our Accountant for Voltalia South Africa’s office in Cape Town, South Africa, will have the following responsibilities:

    Finance:

    • General duties including, but not limited to, data entry, petty cash management, assist on bank reconciliation;
    • Analysis and booking of invoices to be completed for payment;
    • Cash flow management;
    • Ensuring that local accounting is accurate and in line with current IFRS standards and local legislation;
    • Daily contact with the departments to ensure PO’s and request of payment are consistent with Group policy and procedures to ensure accuracy;
    • Reconciliation of suppliers accounts;
    • Updating Reconciliation Files;
    • Supporting month-end and year-end close process;
    • Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
    • Assisting in proper control of the supporting documents for payments and financial reports, payment execution and monitoring payment status;
    • Providing administrative support in documentation of accounting processes and all other accounting documentation;
    • Liaising with service providers for accounting, tax and payroll;
    • Ensuring compliance with various local tax obligations i e. VAT, PAYROLL, Income tax submissions and payments;

    Liaising with both Internal and External Auditors;

    • Interpretation and implementation of Group’s procedures and rules related to administrative, procurement, financial and personnel matters and ensure their compliance;
    • Assisting other staff with any accounting or financial support relating to the projects being undertaken by the Voltalia Group;
    • Performing ad-hoc work or support as required by Manager(s);
    • Administrative: Maintenance of files and records relevant to corporate secretary.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field;
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role;
    • Knowledge and experience in administrative, financial accounting and full range of office support work, with a high level of sustained performance;
    • Oracle Hyperion experience preferred;
    • South African national or valid work permit for South Africa;
    • Fluency in English and is mandatory, knowledge of other local languages and French is a plus.

    Legal Counsel M/F

    Main responsibilities:

    • To manage and supervise a variety of regulatory and commercial matters across the Africa region to support the business in the development of the projects and in the expansion of the new opportunities in this market;
    • Support preparation of public tenders and submission of documentation;
    • Provide legal guidance and innovative solutions to different internal teams;
    • Support the business line development teams and the different teams involved in the drafting and negotiation of the documents supporting their activities and the development of the projects, including drafting, negotiating and advice on commercial agreements as land options, leases, connection agreements, power purchase agreements, tender documents, etc.;
    • Accompany the projects through financial close, requiring review and drafting of loan agreements, security agreements, common terms, liaising with lenders legal advisors, etc.;
    • Review and advise on legally binding documents, follow-up and advise on negotiations;
    • Support and advise development managers in the analysis of new markets;
    • Contribute to the strategic and budgetary planning process of the business line;
    • Contribute to the risk assessment of the activities of the business unit, its business partners, suppliers and other business stakeholders;
    • Draft and negotiate other contracts such as LoIs, NDAs, MoUs, etc;
    • Identify and maintain a network of legal partners capable of globally support the needs of the business unit in terms of local legal advice.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Prior experience as Legal Advisor or Legal Counsel will be valued;
    • Knowledge in renewable energy projects and/or international tenders at least in the past 4-5 years will be valued;
    • English proficiency.

    KEY SKILLS

    • Ability to communicate legal risks and recommendations to senior managers in the company;
    • Must have international experience, commercial profile;
    • Problem-solving capabilities, strategic thinking, judgement, communication, and interpersonal skills;
    • Proactive and creative legal analysis will be key;
    • Experience in the drafting and negotiation of power purchase agreements is a plus;
    • Some background in M&As matters is a plus;
    • Some background in project finance is a plus.

    Country Manager M/F

    Reporting to the Head of Int’l Dev, he/she will have the following responsibilities:

    • Propose , develop and implement a South Africa business plan and annual budget to ensure growth of the company’s of  based operations and development businesses across all renewable technologies.  
    • Represent Voltalia, interact and engage with local and national authorities as well as with the local and regional government bodies and NGO’s to support Voltalia activities
    • Lead the South Africa development process, including interactions with local authorities and securing assistance from internal and external support teams where appropriate
    • Provide for the management and daily tasks associated to Voltalia South Africa in association with Finance, ASIF , development, senior management, and BL
    • Work with the internal and external teams in all the technical, legal and commercial activities necessary for the success of the development projects namely in due diligence, contract negotiations, company representation, permitting procedures, etc.
    • Facilitate and contribute to in-country management of internal staff on permanent and temporary placements such as Construction or O&M deployments
    • Support the Construction and O&M teams in the Country strategy and target definition,and  during the planning and execution of the projects
    • Identify and evaluate new potential renewable energy projects and opportunities within the South Africa for solar and wind projects and other related opportunities as they arise
    • Gain detailed insight of competitive environment to be used for developing the overall business strategy
    • Lead, support and coordinate the teams working for Voltalia in SOUTH AFRICA in order to facilitate their integration, the achivement of their missions and maintain the high motivation of all employees, with the support of HR Department.
    • Prepare and present periodical reports to the Head of European Subsidiaries on the activity of Voltalia in SOUTH AFRICA, in particular on the Development of projects and the IPP management
    • Report on all significant issues to the Head of European Subsidiaries and follow his (or her) instructions, as well as BL managers instructions
    • Support the integration of Voltalia South Africa in the Group, taking into account all the Group’s procedures and BL guidelines, Continuously improve Health and Safety culture, reporting and performance against measurable criteria using where necessary professional advisors to support the responsibilities of BL Leaders

    REQUIREMENTS

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • A strong knowledge and relevant experience in the renewable field in the South Africa
    • Knowledge on corporate PPA
    • Proven track record in the development or management of Energy (electricity field) projects
    • Master’s degree in a technical field and/or business
    • Fluent in English

    Sales Manager PPA M/F

    As part of the Power Sales activities of Voltalia, and in collaboration with the other PPA Sales Manager, you will perform the following tasks:

    Business Development:

    • Establish the strategy and set up an action plan to generate new contacts and incoming requests: communication, participation and potentially organization of internal and external events such as conferences, exhibitions, round tables, third -parties partnerships ;
    • In close collaboration with internal teams, manage and process incoming requests from prospects or customers: qualification of requests for information (RfI), qualification of requests for quotations (RFQ) and private or public tenders ;
    • Establish the first contacts with prospects / customers and qualification of their needs ;

    Sales: 

    • Lead the origination of long-term new-build-asset-backed PPAs (both offsite and onsite), prepare commercial offers; lead the commercial negotiations and securing PPAs for each new-build renewable projects ;
    • Follow closely the evolution of the renewable energy market in terms of consumers, services, offer structure etc.

    Contracting:

    • Manage contract negotiation with Corporate ;
    • Manage contract closing and validation through Contract Committee and Investment Committee ;
    • Manage customer and third-party quality verification (KYC – Risk Credit) ;

    Structuration:

    • Survey national rules, public regulation and electricity wheeling scheme ;
    • Participate to the development and the structuration of new offers as per South African market specifics ;

    Reporting:

    • Implement sales reporting with KPI on the realized actions ;
    • Update the reports on offers being processed and potential offers ;
    • Define the necessary corrective actions after the analysis of the KPIs: adjustment of the typologies of prospects or targeted sectors of activity, modification of the offers etc.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Graduate School of Engineering or Business School ;
    • At least 3 years of experience in the South African power market or renewable sector ;
    • Good commercial skills and connection among corporate offtakers in the South African market ;
    • Ideally first corporate PPA experience (structuring, tendering, contracting, and management) ;
    • Good knowledge of the economic and regulatory conditions of energy purchases and/or electricity wheeling scheme in South Africa ;
    • MS Office ;
    • English ;

    KEY SKILLS

    • Good interpersonal skills, teamwork efficiency ;
    • Responsible, autonomous, organized, curious ;
    • Experience in negotiation process.
