    Paralegal Specialist

    Job Description    

    • Drafting of standard agreements and compiling legal templates, trademark and patent renewals
    • Compiling and maintaining a contracts precedent database
    • Providing assistance to legal counsels on matters of research, corporate verification, and legal templates
    • Providing standard legal opinions
    • Maintaining a Group legal risk register
    • Compliance officer for Group Secretariat
    • Assist with the updating of all local and foreign statutory records
    • Maintain an updated organogram of the Group’s legal entities
    • Assist the Board Support manager with taking minutes of Board and Committees
    • Update Board and divisional board minute books
    • Provide ad-hoc governance support as and when required.
    • Organise, prepare agendas and attend meetings, take and distribute minutes, formulate decision matrixes and attend to action plans.
    • Deal with correspondence, collating information and writing reports to ensure that decisions made are communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
    • Understand the interrelations of all AECI companies and regions
    • Assist the Group Co & General Counsel with legal and corporate statutory support i.e. organizing corporate calendars, and meetings, scheduling Legal department meetings

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Legal degree
    • 5-8 years work experience in an established large law firm
    • Computer literacy essential
    • Working knowledge of the corporate process is important

    Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

    Job Description    

    • Maintain all instrumentation, Electrical and process automation system for optimum plant efficiency;
    • Ensure Certificates of Compliance on all new and altered Equipment is issued and kept on record/file;
    • Create site reports and update Maintenance Connection of any Equipment change on site;
    • Carry out daily plant inspections as per schedule – weekly checks on Instruments functionality on different plant sections;
    • Pneumatic and Electronic calibrations;
    • Installation and maintenance of Analog Gauges/Indicators;
    • Scale weighing systems Repairs;
    • Fault finding on instrument loops and electrical control circuitry;
    • PLC, SCADA fault finding;
    • Instrument installations and field programming according to equipment;
    • Control maintenance and project budgets and recommending suitable suppliers;
    • Supervise service providers and contractors carrying out work on site;
    • Train and mentor apprentices and trade assistants;
    • Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards;
    • Carry out any other tasks in relation to Electrical and Instrumentation as and when required by the Maintenance Engineer.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Recognised Instrumentation/Electrical Apprenticeship – Trade Tested.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a qualified artisan including at least 2 years in a chemical / petrochemical environment.
    • Knowledge of hazardous chemical installations.
    • PLC and SCADA experience
    • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
    • Must be able to perform stand-by duties and overtime as and when required to do so.

    Technical And Process Safety Officer

    Job Description    

    • Manage technical investigations and process improvement projects.
    • Provide innovative technical input to assist in maximizing efficiencies and reliability of the plant.
    • Involved in product development and process related projects, modifications and improvement.
    • Ensure capital projects are completed on time and in budget.
    • Champions Process Safety Management implementation and resource optimization projects.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Minimum Grade 12 with Maths and Physical Science
    • Degree –Chemical Engineering (B Eng. / BSc / B Tech) or Equivalent Safety/Risk management (NQF Level 7).
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the chemical manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with Process Safety Management systems within the chemical operations environment.
    • Technical Engineering background
    • Practical understanding of Chemicals and Operations Management.
    • Experience in product development especially in laboratory and pilot plant work would be advantageous.
    • Responsible Care Process Safety (advantage).
    • Technical safety risk assessments (PHA, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, QRA etc.).
    • Incident Investigation including RCA facilitation.
    • Process safety concepts.
    • In-house procedure development.
    • Good knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
