    Subcontract Buyer - Kempton Park

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Planning and scheduling master data
    • Weekly planning process (production planning at sub-contractor, planning meeting, Raw material transport scheduling), in collaboration with Sub-contractor account manager, buyers and factory managers
    • Monitor Daily Production and Sales reports (Service levels, sales forecast, national stock sales rates etc.
    • Update actual vs. planned daily and analyse variances (non-adherence to plan) and discuss with sub-con managers in daily production meetings.  Report potential risks back to Logistics manager and Central planning.
    • Open & clear communication between site planner & demand planner
    • Monitor BOMs for material change overs and ensure that material usage at sub-contractor is within parameters of the SLA.  Liaise closely with buyers and NPD team in terms of artwork changes and new product launches.
    • Manage and monitor material plan performance
    • Weekly procurement process (purchase requisitions and purchase order creation, follow-up on requisition releasing, MRP management), in collaboration with Stores Clerks, other buyers and factory managers
    • Monitor Daily Purchase Orders - Open orders, OTIF, Stock Replenishment, service levels, materials forecast, monitor stock usage rates etc.
    • Using replenishment / re-order principles for anything procured under the respective portfolio: Identifying re-order levels and sourcing against these for continuous supply.
    • Manage and maintain demand vs factory commitment performance
    • Monthly proposed plan to be provided to off-site blender that is reviewed & communicated weekly to ensure correct SKU's are blended.  Blender actual vs planned to be monitored daily.  Blend upliftment to be arranged when blends are approved by NBL QC.  Raw materials to be assessed and arranged to meet weekly plans.  Maintain safety stock levels.  Off-site blender to receive monthly PO based on proposed monthly plan. 
    • Weekly communication of Co-Packer production requirements.  Materials to be arranged for delivery, batches to be created for SAP labels.  SAP label print requests to be sent to Transit bay timeously.  Co-packer to be issued with PO for NBL planned SKU's.  Manage and monitor Hot chocolate order and delivery process as per SOP.
    • Attend weekly S&OP meeting facilitated by central planning to report back on factory performance
    • Monitor full utilization of planning board and process orders
    • Ensure that the Planning Master data is accurate with correct throughput per production line
    • Participate in Quarterly Standard Committee meeting to review throughputs and to align SAP capacity and planning capacity accordingly

    Reporting

    • Consolidate relevant information for the monthly reporting cycle (Monthly & Annual volumes report, weekly MPS, MPP)
    • Create templates and tools for reporting efficiencies
    • Optimise and improve identified reporting mechanisms
    • Weekly directors’ report
    • Weekly MPS report
    • Inventory Management
    • Preparation and facilitating of monthly Co-packer & Blender stock counts
    • Participate in monthly site stock counts
    • Investigate discrepancies (Consumption variances, Finished goods GRN vs Deliveries etc) and provide feedback to Logistics manager and Finance
    • Forecasting
    • Generate 12-months rolling forecasts for Sub-contracted packaging material
    • Generate 12-months rolling forecasts for off-site Blender
    • Generate 12-months rolling forecasts for HIAM blending Sugar & Cocoa demand
    • Generate 12-months rolling forecasts for Ciro supplied Hot chocolate blend
    • Review co-blender forecast and identify potential capacity constraints in peak period

     General

    • Conduct Quality audits as per schedule
    • Ensure that all Safety rules are in place and adhered to 

    Minimum Requirements:

    Experience:                                                                   

    • Minimum of 3 Years in a similar role in a FMCG/Food and Beverage manufacturing environment

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant National Diploma (Essential)
    • A degree would be advantageous

    General Buyer - Kempton Park

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Weekly procurement process (purchase requisitions and purchase order creation, follow-up on requisition releasing, MRP management, engineering meeting), in collaboration with Stores Clerks, All Site Dept, other buyers and factory managers
    • Monitor Daily Purchase Orders - Open orders, OTIF, Stock Replenishment, service levels, materials forecast, monitor stock usage rates etc.
    • Using replenishment / re-order principles for anything procured under the respective portfolio: Identifying re-order levels and sourcing against these for continuous supply.
    • Sourcing three quotes: Following procurement procedure to ensure most effective cost of procurement requirement and the right quality.
    • Reporting of urgent / breakdown items: Feedback monthly the number of urgent / breakdown orders and the opportunity costs thereof.
    • Resolving account queries with professionalism: Quick turnaround of account queries.
    • Supplier management: Top ten supplier evaluation & expenditure reporting. Establish & maintain monthly interface with these vendors.
    • Vendor database maintenance: Reduce number of new vendors loaded to database. Offer alternatives or remove & replace method.
    • Manage Import requirements: Compile Purchase Orders using forex & inco terms – expedite imports orders for capex and projects.
    • Open & clear communication with Internal and External Stakeholders
    • Maintain safety stock levels. 
    • Attend key daily and weekly meetings to report back on factory and supplier performance
    • Monitor full utilization of MRP board and purchase orders
    • Ensure that the Procurement Master data is accurate with correct throughput per Engineering materials and Vendors scope
    • Participate in Quarterly Standard Committee meeting to review throughputs and to align SAP capacity and planning/ procurement capacity accordingly
    • Consolidate relevant information for the monthly reporting cycle (Monthly & Annual Orders report, Working Capital Report, weekly tracker of urgent orders)
    • Create templates and tools for reporting efficiencies
    • Optimise and improve identified reporting mechanisms
    • Weekly management and directors report
    • Weekly OTIF report

    Minimum Requirements:

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an General Buyer or Technical Buyer role gained in a FMCG environment
    • Demonstrated purchasing experience in the technical or engineering field
    • Sound Excel proficiency
    • Working knowledge of SAP essential

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12
    • A relevant completed tertiary qualification in Purchasing, Procurement, Logistics or Stores Management Minimum NQF4 level qualification
