    Regional Sales Operations Leader

    DESCRIPTION

    • We are looking for a talented Sales Operations Regional Leader to join our team specializing in Sales for our Distribution Business Unit in Johannesburg, South Africa.

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

    • Empowering Data-Driven Decisions: You’ll enable regional sales teams to make smarter, faster decisions by implementing global Sales Operations tools and processes that turn raw data into actionable insights.
    • Championing Global Strategy at the Regional Level: By deploying and maintaining global Sales Operations strategies locally, you’ll ensure alignment while tailoring approaches to meet regional nuances and needs.
    • Being the Go-To Sales Ops Partner:You’ll serve as the primary liaison between global Sales Ops and regional sales teams—translating strategy into execution and ensuring tools are adopted effectively.
    • Driving Continuous Improvement Through Feedback Loops: Your communication of region-specific needs will help shape future tools, training, and processes—making global solutions more relevant and effective.
    • Enhancing Data Accuracy and Consistency:Partnering with sales leaders, you’ll improve how performance data is captured and used, boosting trust in the numbers and enabling better performance management.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    • Expertise in global sales operations tools and strategy is essential, including leading the rollout and adoption of platforms such as Salesforce, Seismic, Cummins Sales University, and Sales Playbooks across the region.
    • Sales enablement experience is required, with a strong background in implementing structured training programs, playbooks, and incentive schemes that enhance sales capabilities, promote consistent execution, and drive motivation through recognition initiatives.
    • A data-driven approach to sales insights and BI reporting is critical, demonstrated by a proven ability to use business intelligence tools to deliver actionable insights, support strategic decisions, improve forecasting accuracy, and identify growth opportunities.
    • Cross-functional collaboration and operational problem solving are key to success, involving close partnership with Finance, Sales, and other functions to resolve systemic barriers, improve pipeline health, enhance AR collection, and optimize pricing effectiveness.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education/ Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, Finance, or a related field and MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
    • Experience in Sales Operations, Sales Enablement, Sales Management or Commercial Excellence roles along with proven experience in managing cross-functional/regional teams is advantageous.
    • Knowledge of AME DBU regional business operations and cultural awareness is advantageous.

    • Proficiency with Electronic Service Tools: Familiarity with the full suite of diagnostic hardware and software tools, and the ability to interpret their outputs to guide repair decisions and service actions.
    • Meticulous Documentation & Process Compliance:Skill in capturing and verifying technical and customer data, documenting service actions in business systems, and adhering to warranty and service protocols for accurate claims and historical tracking.
    • Effective Escalation & Communication:Capability to identify when issues require higher-level expertise, escalate appropriately while maintaining customer responsiveness, and clearly communicate findings and resolutions across teams and systems.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education/ Experience:

    • College, university, or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline or relevant experience equivalent required.
    • Intermediate level of relevant work experience in a technical field, including team leadership experience, required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education/ Experience

    • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent trade qualification with extensive experience.
    • 5–10 years of experience in maintenance, operations, or reliability within asset-intensive industries (e.g., mining, power generation), preferably involving diesel engine systems.
    • Working knowledge of reliability engineering principles, including RCM, RCA, FMEA, and PdM.
    • Proficiency in CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP) and basic data reporting tools (Excel, Power BI).
    • Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
    • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
