    Senior Programs Manager

    YOUR TASKS:

    • Manage and coordinate all country projects on behalf of the Leadership team
    • Responsible for the effective deployment and usage of assigned resources to attain maximum productivity in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget and meet the desired business objectives as per project scope
    • Take the lead role to ensure efficient and effective best practice Project Management
    • Organize, develop and lead project team members effectively (including: Watchlists, WI, SLA, SOP, KPIs and Scorecards) to ensure internal approvals on all agreed project milestones, including post implementation assessment to confirm sustainability.
    • Identify the gaps / requirements / areas for improvement and attention in processes, people and systems as well as reforming of the strategy and project objectives, timelines and resources required to achieve the business objectives and benefits.
    • Design and implement processes, systems and measures that ensure that exceptions, slippage and issues of priority are effectively managed and communicated timeously and effectively.
    • Monitor projects in the portfolio and assess if these continue to meet the desired business objectives and recommend project deferment and/or cancellation with relevant stakeholders where necessary.
    • Review and take appropriate corrective actions as needed to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet project objectives and business benefit as per project scope
    • Ensure country project alignment with relevant Regional and Global initiatives.
    • Effectively manage the “change management” mindset and communicate milestone progress with all stakeholders to ensure “buy-in” / support.
    • Drive for system solutions focussed on: Automation, Digitization, RPA, AI.
    • Present and maintain (mandated in conjunction with relevant team members) overall project presentation / tracking and related supporting documentation as deemed fit by the Project Manager.
    • Monitor and report overall project progress to relevant stakeholders.

    YOUR PROFILE:

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree , ideally in a related field (such as Project Management, Change Management, or business)
    • Relevant qualifications / certifications in Project Management, Change Management - First Choice / LEAN / Six Sigma / PMP Certification preferred
    • 6 to 8 years' experience in managing and driving key business projects
    • 6 to 8 years' experience in managing and directing project teams
    • Proven track record of delivering value through analysis
    • Experience of performance management frameworks
    • Experience working on a matrix organisation
    • Experience in automated Project Management solutions and Workflow Tools / Systems
    • DHL First Choice methodology and tools experience would be advantageous.
    • Analytical skills and capacity for conceptual thinking
    • Ability to think and act with a cross-organizational and cross-process approach.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Must be able to analyze the functionality and underlying / feeding drivers of (any and multiple) technical systems and the relationships between them including ability to map any process at data flow, task responsibility, output level, etc.
    • Intermediate to Advanced Computer skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams and Business Specific Reporting Systems.

    Manager: Distribution Centre

    Job Purpose

    • To take full operational, commercial, and budgetary responsibility for the management of the Cape Town Distribution Centres.
    • Working through the site management teams to ensure performance targets are met and exceeded.
    • To support the branch management and staff through objective setting, organising, motivating, communicating, measuring and development of people.
    • To lead by maintaining a high standard of ethics, compliance with company policies and operating procedures.
    • To contribute to the development of strategy of the business together with the executive team
    • To maximise the performance of the operation by directing the daily, weekly, and monthly activities
    • Providing leadership, motivation, training, and development of the workplace, executing against customer requirements, operational performance and "making DHL a great place to work".
    • Professional Interaction with DHL Customers and build sound customer relationships. 

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    • Delivery of key financial performance measures - Managing Operations within the budget as set by the Client.
    • "Meet and exceed operational service levels. Through the achievement of contractual Key Performance indicators.
    • Drive and develop team culture Encourage and reward constructive internal competitiveness to the benefit of client, DHL and individual employees.

    • Operational Return - Full budget responsibility for multiple sites. Produce an annual budget in line with Company guidelines and budgeted revenue.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 / Matric - Essential

    • Distribution Knowledge - Must have an understanding of the company's distribution system, transport needs and customer base.                  
    • Operational Knowledge - Must have a high level of understanding of all machinery, equipment, and vehicles on site.                                                 
    • Quality Knowledge - Must have a clear understanding of the quality deliver requirements of the company and be able to change and adapt as required.
    • Security Knowledge - Needs to manage, maintain and be aware of all security processes, procedures, and requirements of the company.                        
    • Team Development - Open communication - positive work environment and feedback - manage team dynamics. 
    • Managing Relations - Develop relationships - maintain a positive environment and work ethic.                                            
    • Financial Knowledge – Must have good knowledge of all Financial processes, must be able to interpret the numbers provided by Admin/Finance dept and impart information to the team.

    Experience

    • 5 - 10 years Senior Management Experience, preferably in Logistics and Warehousing environment
