    Senior Network Security Engineer

    Job description

    First Technology is looking for a passionate Senior Networking Engineer who will partner with and ensure the long-term success of our customers.

    The Senior Networking Engineer role will deliver third line support and project services to a variety of customers using network switching, routing, firewall and wireless network technologies in line with customer requirements.

    Main duties and Responsibilities

    • Identify and resolve complex incidents and perform root cause analysis
    • Design and implement technology solutions up to the highest standards
    • Perform proactive optimisation and implement best practice
    • Actively seek opportunities for value-add and upselling to existing customers
    • Push for automation, standardisation and repeatable quality
    • Develop and enhance relationships and communication throughout the company with peers as well as individuals external to the company
    • Identify opportunities to extend the company’s service offerings

    Essential Experience

    • Minimum 10 years’ overall experience in IT infrastructure
    • Advanced experience with two or more of the following vendor’s switching, routing and wireless products: HP / Aruba, Enterasys / Extreme Networks, Cisco
    • Candidate must be willing to cross skill to Extreme Networks (if not already skilled)
    • Advanced experience with Fortigate, SonicWall or CyberRoam (now Sophos) Firewall
    • At least 3 years’ experience in creating and implementing technical designs
    • At least 2 years’ experience in assisting project managers with the creation of proposals, project plans and managing one’s own work streams
    • Comfortable working in server rooms / datacentres racking and cabling up kit
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong presentation and white-boarding skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions
    • Sound ITIL framework mind-set in terms of structured incident management, request management, change management, contractual scope alignment etc
    • Desirable Skills/Qualifications

    • F5 Networks

    Essential Qualifications

    • One or more of the below certifications
    • HP FlexNetwork Professional]
    • Extreme Certified Specialist

    Systems Administrator

    Job description

    First Technology is looking for a passionate Systems Engineer who will partner with and ensure the long-term success of our customers.

    The Systems Engineer role will deliver remote and on-site support and maintenance services on desktops and servers for a variety of customers using a variety of Microsoft and Wintel technologies, in line with customer contracts and ad hoc requirements.

    Main duties and Responsibilities

    • Respond to, troubleshoot and then resolve incidents detected by the monitoring tools in use by our Network Operations Centre.
    • Proactively identify potential future incidents before they occur and resolve the underlying issue before it actually has any impact
    • Perform root cause analysis of long term issues and implement automation to combat repetitive issues mostly on servers but occasionally also on desktop.
    • Execute pre-defined processes in line with customer requirement.
    • Action ad-hoc assignments on-site at customers
    • Innovate and delight customers with value adds and a proactive mind-set
    • Develop and enhance relationships and communication throughout the company with peers and individuals external to the company

    Essential Experience

    • Minimum 5 years’ overall experience in IT
    • Advanced experience with Windows 7, 8 and 10
    • Intermediate experience with administration of server systems like AD and File & Print
    • Basic experience with Windows Server 2008 and 2012
    • Fundamental understanding of VMware and Hyper-V
    • Fundamental understanding of IP addressing, subnetting and routing
    • Strong communication (both written and verbally) and comfortable face to face
    • Sound ITIL framework mind-set in terms of structured incident management, request management, change management, contractual scope aligned etc.
    • Desirable Skills/Qualifications
    • MCSA 2012: Server Infrastructure
    • ITIL V3
