    Assistant Manager Nursing Specialty PNB4

    Requirements:

    • Basic R425 qualification (i.e An appropriate bachelor's degree/ Diploma in Nursing or equivalent qualification that allow registration with the South African Nursing Council) as a Professional Nurse.
    • Registration with the SANC as a professional nurse and currently registered for the financial year.
    • Diploma/ Degree in Nursing Administration/ Management registered with SANC.
    • A minimum of 10 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
    • At least 6 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognizable experience in the specialty after obtaining one-year post-basic qualification in ICU.
    • At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognizable experience at management level. Provide service record for previous employment

    Duties:

    • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to implement the Norms and Standards for Ideal Health Facility Monitoring, OHSC, SANC, the Nursing Strategy relevant legislative framework, including the achievement of Annual Performance Plan outcomes. 
    • Promote the implementation of clinical governance systems and recommendations within critical care department. Promote the implementation of clinical governance systems and recommendations with critical care departments. 
    • Supervise and coordinate provision of a professional, safe, quality patient care by nurses, technologists/ perfusionist, radiographers, surgeons, anaesthesiologists and other partners (internal/external) within the continuum of critical care for better outcomes and accessibility of life-saving services. Facilitate cost-effective management and utilization of material resources, various assets and human capital, including the procurement of buy-outs needs to provide critical care services in accordance with relevant SCM directives and legislation (PFMA/Preferential Procurement Act).
    • Develop and monitor the implementation of policies and guidelines, programmes, regulations, procedure and standards pertaining to nurses' training, professional development and research. Promote the use of Information Technology to manage data/information for the enhancement of communication systems and service delivery. Promote effective risk management and cascading of the Risks Action Plan within the critical care departments.

    Nursing Assistant

    Requirements:

    • Matric, qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Nursing Assistant or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary. Grade 1: None after registration with the SANC in Nursing Assistant .
    • Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience after registration with the SANC as Nursing Assistant.
    • Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience after registration with the SANC as Nursing Assistant.

    Duties:

    Operational Manager Nursing: PN-A5

    Requirements:

    • Matric, Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse. Proof of current registration with the South African Nursing Council.
    • A minimum of 7 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.

    Duties:

    Professional Nurse (Specialty )

    Requirements:

    • Matric, Diploma/Degree in Nursing (NQF6/7) as recognised by SAQA or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as Professional Nurse.
    • A post basic nursing qualification in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatology, with a duration of at least one year accredited with SANC. Current registration with SANC.

    Duties:

    • Provide comprehensive nursing treatment and care to patients in a specialty unit in a cost effective, efficient and equitable manner. Perform a clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as determined by the relevant health facility.
    • Compile unit based stats and submit to Operational Manager General Unit for verification and submission to relevant stakeholders.
    • Be an all -rounder by assisting in other units of the hospital where needs arise. Act as shift leader in unit (where necessary). Coordinate the provision of effective training and where possible including research projects for nursing services specific to Maternity unit. Provide and demonstrate safe patient care practices

    Social Worker

    Requirements:

    • Matric and Bachelor of Social Worker as recognised by SAQA. Proof of registration with SACSSP as a social worker. Valid driver's license

    Experience:

    • Grade 1 : None
    • Grade 2 : A minimum 10 years appropriate experience in social worker after registration as a Social Worker with SACSSP

    Duties:

    • Provide social work services through promotion of social change and problem solving in human relationships to enhance social well-being. Ensure that all supervisees are trained and developed to be able to deliver work of the required standards efficiently and effectively by mentoring and coaching. Keep up to date with new developments in the social work field.
    • Identify and make recommendations on appropriate interventions required to address the problem. Implement the recommended interventions by providing continuous support, counselling and guidance to the affected individuals, groups and families. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the recommended interventions, report on the progress.
    • Organise and present health promotion and prevention programs. Conduct de-briefing sessions to health care workers. Organise and co-facilitate trainings with provincial and district Social Workers. Participate in provincial related initiatives. Mentor and support Adherence Club Facilitators.
