Matric and Bachelor of Social Worker as recognised by SAQA. Proof of registration with SACSSP as a social worker. Valid driver's license
Experience:
Grade 1 : None
Grade 2 : A minimum 10 years appropriate experience in social worker after registration as a Social Worker with SACSSP
Grade 3 : A minimum of 20 years appropriate experience in social worker after registration as a Social Worker with SACSSP.
Duties:
Render a social worker service to relevant facilities with regard to the care, support, protection and development of vulnerable individuals, groups, families and communities through the relevant programmes. Conduct assessments to groups, families and communities.
Provide social work services through promotion of social change and problem solving in human relationships to enhance social well-being. Ensure that all supervisees are trained and developed to be able to deliver work of the required standards efficiently and effectively by mentoring and coaching. Keep up to date with new developments in the social work field.
Identify and make recommendations on appropriate interventions required to address the problem. Implement the recommended interventions by providing continuous support, counselling and guidance to the affected individuals, groups and families. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the recommended interventions, report on the progress.
Organise and present health promotion and prevention programs. Conduct de-briefing sessions to health care workers. Organise and co-facilitate trainings with provincial and district Social Workers. Participate in provincial related initiatives. Mentor and support Adherence Club Facilitators.
