    Planned Maintenance Reporting Analyst

    The Planned Maintenance Reporting Analyst is accountable for ensuring data integrity and, developing and generating planning, control systems and maintenance information and reports to enable Engineering Asset Management trend analysis and decision support. 

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 / N3
    • N6 or B-Tech in Engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years’ experience post qualification maintenance or asset management
    • Min of 3 years’ experience relating to data analysis
    • Self-reliant contributor with distinctive proficiency in continuous improvement with a minimum experience of 2 years work experience in industry environment
    • Excellent analytical ability
    • Strong planning, prioritizing and organization skills
    • Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement
    • Advanced SAP Planned Maintenance or related Maintenance Management Systems Knowledge

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, and environment responsibility
    • Develop, refine, and maintain overall Asset Management system reporting an analytics schedule upon which to define and deliver regular reporting requirements
    • Engage and collaborate with Engineering, operational and support teams to map out Asset Management System Architecture to enable accurate data sourcing, interfaces, and interdependencies
    • Conduct and maintain Asset Management master data assurance schedule to ensure data accuracy and integrity and implement required remedial actions
    • Develop, recommend, and maintain processes and procedures relating to planned maintenance and data management including alignment thereof to ISO 55000 certification processes
    • Develop and maintain the creation of standard reports to improve maintenance quality, machine availability and reliability.
    • Perform data analysis on the different fleets and sections and any ad hoc investigations that may aide the function
    • Stemming from the analysis to inform planners of possible improvements and enhancements to the data integrity and the overall planned maintenance/asset management systems and processes
    • Provide support information to any improvement projects initiated by asset management/planned maintenance

    Winder Electrician

    The Winder Electrician is accountable for the execution of general and specialist winder and associated installation maintenance, repairs and project work.  The incumbent delivers scheduled and unscheduled tasks as assigned to ensure safe and optimal Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).  A core accountability of the role is to maintain the highest possible safety standards in area of operation and influence.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade12/ N3 or equivalent qualification
    • Relevant electrical trade certificate with a MV Switching Certificate
    • Conversant with Minerals Act regulations where Winding Plant is concerned (Chapter 16 of the Minerals Act)
    • Minimum 7 years’ experience as an electrician with at least 5 years’ winder maintenance experience on both Blair Multi Rope (BMR) Winders as well as Double and Single Drum winders and associated equipment
    • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment.
    • Must have proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or be fully vaccinated by the date of the commencement of employment.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure health and safety of self and team members by applying relevant standards and procedures in all planning and execution of maintenance activities.
    • Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations, manufacturing and Company standards with specific reference to Winding Plant in particular (Chapter 16)
    • Contribute to a culture of zero harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation, health, safety, environmental, security policies, and procedures, and by the application of specific instructions to own work area and task completion
    • Promote and develop team work to become an affective team member
    • Ensure that condition monitoring of equipment, scheduled and planned maintenance are conducted effectively.
    • Timely response to breakdown management, conduct appropriate root cause analysis and diagnosis
    • Repairing breakdowns as they occur and assisting with expansions and construction of new equipment or installations
    • Responsible for winder control and electrical systems, including but not limited to: Compressor control and electrical systems, Shaft and shaft station control and electrical systems, Updating of all electrical documentation (drawings, equipment database and datasheets) & Switching and preventative maintenance tasks on MV equipment in accordance with policies and procedures 
    • Exercise sound expert judgment with regards to repair versus replacement versus upgrade of components.
    •  Align with planned maintenance schedules, including maintenance of relevant records for all winder and electrical equipment and electrical installations in area of responsibility
    • Perform all activities according to instructions, procedures and engineering needs
    • Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedure
    • Create and maintain job cards according to SAP system and requirements
    • Work overtime, standby and be available for call-outs should the need arise

    Millwright

    The role of the Millwright/Electro Mechanician is to perform maintenance tasks on the South Deep Trackless Fleet. The tasks entails both electrical and mechanical fault finding and maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and installations.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Be in possession of a Grade 12 qualification or equivalent
    • Be in possession of an appropriate Trade Certificate as Millwright or Electro-Mechanician
    • Have 3 years’ experience as a Millwright on trackless mobile equipment

    Section Manager Engineering - Reliability

    The Section Manager Engineering – Reliability is accountable for designing, refining, and leading the implementation of TM3 equipment life-cycle performance objectives.  A key accountability of the role is to conduct intensive research and analysis to optimise the maintenance and reliability of mobile equipment to meet the business plan/budget and functional targets without compromising safety.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineering, etc.)
    • Proven track record of extensive practical experience in TM3 equipment and plant management at middle management level

    • Ensuring that effective auditing of TMM safety systems is maintained to enhance South Deep TMM safety standards

    • Ensure an effective structure is in place with clearly defined accountabilities and measurable outputs by which to judge performance for the reliability team and to function as a valuable contributor to the larger asset management team
    • Implement a performance culture with transparency on measures, results and consequence
    • Develop a reliability asset management plan and processes to continuously improve critical equipment, reliability, and costs to global best practice standards in line with ISO 55000.
    • Implement a life cycle approach to asset decision-making that is evidence based and value focused
    • Improve and manage the reconditionable spares process on the mine
    • Optimise performance levels of TMM assets through actively monitoring their operation and creating solutions to encourage sustainable use
    • Research and investigate the latest technological trends and make proposals on appropriate implementation programmes to incorporate these into the business.
    • Implement effective TMM failure analysis
    • Managing the refurbishment program effectively for the mine
