• Investec Sandton is looking for an experienced .NET / C# Engineer with a passion for designing and building scalable, resilient, high‑performance solutions using modern technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong cloud experience and be comfortable leading or mentoring engineers within the team.
• You will be part of a cross‑functional delivery team consisting of a Product Owner, Software Engineers, Delivery Manager, and QA Engineers, responsible for building and evolving our Transactional Banking Platform. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of initiatives—from enhancing existing capabilities to developing new applications that push the boundaries of modern banking technology.
• You will be involved in the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of solutions operating across on‑prem and cloud environments. Key Responsibilities

As an experienced .NET Engineer, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices, integrating with internal and external systems
• Act as a technical mentor and informal leader within the engineering team (no direct reports)
• Contribute to architectural discussions and guide technical direction within the team
• Work in an agile engineering environment using source control and CI/CD pipelines
• Write clean, testable, and performance‑oriented code
• Test, troubleshoot, debug, enhance, and upgrade software solutions
• Promote a “you build it, you run it” mindset across development and support

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• 5–8 years of professional experience developing in C# and .NET

Must have strong proficiency in:

• .NET / C# Core
• Relational and NoSQL databases
• DevOps practices (Azure DevOps preferred)
• Automated testing (unit, integration, or API testing)
• RESTful API design principles
• Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)

Nice‑to‑Have Skills:
Ideally, you will also have experience with:

• Frontend technologies (React, TypeScript)
• Event‑driven architecture
• Containerisation (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

Key Responsibilities

• The role is responsible for assisting more senior advisers in providing financial advice to private clients in accordance with FAIS legislation and according to Investec's professional financial advice guidelines. The overarching objective is to offer holistic financial planning, which includes analysis of the client's financial affairs (including a risk analysis, pre- and post-retirement planning and intergenerational wealth planning); development of a financial plan for the client; solutioning for the client using Investec's life insurance and investment products; and ensuring that proper record keeping of advice is maintained.

• Responsible for the specific elements of the cell's sale targets for Mortgage Protection cover for your client portfolio
• Provide a consistent and coordinated client experience ensuring credibility of the Private Bankers and Senior Advisers
• Assist in keeping the Private Bankers informed in all activities with the clients
• Assist with the preparation for the annual financial reviews with clients
• Support the sales and marketing of Investec Life and My Investment product range with other distribution or service channels when required
• Act as the essential link between clients, bankers, advisers, and adviser consultants, ensuring seamless communication and coordination. This involves understanding client needs, conveying these to the advisers, and working closely with adviser consultants to develop tailored financial strategies. By facilitating clear and effective interactions, you help build trust and foster long-term relationships that are crucial for client satisfaction and business growth.

 Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Relevant tertiary qualification and CFP would be preferred (or studying towards)
• Two to four years' experience in client support or administration, preferably in financial services
