    M365 Modern Workplace Engineer

    • Investec is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 / Modern Workplace Engineer to join our dynamic team within the M365 Messaging & Collaboration domain, which functions as a component of the broader Modern Workplace Team. The successful candidate will possess substantial hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 core components. This role requires the ability to function both independently and collaboratively, working with various team members including Engineers, Business Analysts, Architects, stakeholders, and end users to resolve issues and develop appropriate solutions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Platform Administration and Operations:

    • Administer and optimize SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, MS Teams, Exchange Online and other M365 related services including Copilot and MS Power Platform
    • Configure and manage the M365 Admin Center and Power Platform environments (Power Apps and Power Automate) as appropriate
    • Implement and monitor service health, change management, backup/recovery plans and disaster recovery protocols where applicable
    • Establish and maintain baseline configurations, naming conventions and governance policies

    Migration, Integration and Automation:

    • Plan and execute migrations to the M365 platform (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online) with minimal business disruption
    • Integrate M365 with existing systems and data sources. Leverage GraphAPI and Power Platform to automate processes
    • Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell and Graph API) to streamline repetitive tasks and provisioning

    Performance and Optimization:

    • Monitor performance, reach, and reliability, tune configurations to optimize cost, latency, and user experience
    • Establish and track metrics related to collaboration usage, security posture and regulatory compliance

    Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:

    • Create and maintain authoritative documentation for configurations, governance, standard operating procedures and runbooks
    • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of knowledge transfer

    Stakeholder and Vendor Management:

    • Partner with team leaders, Cybersecurity, Identity and infrastructure teams to ensure aligned delivery
    • Work with Microsoft and other vendors or suppliers and participate in licensing planning and governance

    Experience and Skills:

    The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the following technologies which are critical to this role:

    Essential:

    • 5-7 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 in a professional enterprise environment
    • Deep expertise across SharePoint Online, OneDrive, MS Teams, Exchange Online and related M365 services
    • Comprehensive understanding of security, compliance and governance within the M365 ecosystem (DLP, retention, sensitivity labels, eDiscovery, auditing)
    • Scripting and automation mindset. Proficiency in PowerShell and Graph API for automation and custom tooling
    • Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate) for workflow automation
    • Experience with migrations tools such as QuestODM, Sharegate and AvePoint
    • Experience with M365 user and workload migrations
    • Ability to design and implement migration and adoption strategies
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
    • Experience in navigating the ever-evolving MS cloud consoles: Azure, Exchange, Entra, Purview, Power Platform, Security, SharePoint and MS Teams
    • Ability to analyze usage patterns, security metrics and compliance risks using data-driven decision making
    • Comprehensive working knowledge of server and networking concepts, including Windows Server operating systems, networking protocols and proficiency in basic network troubleshooting (telnet, ping, traceroute and netstat)
    • Experience with the ServiceNOW ITSM Tool to service tickets logged and load change requests
    • Capability to represent the team regarding upcoming changes logged for maintenance, migrations or required changes
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel – The ability to execute vlookups, pivot tables, concatenate and duplicate lookups

    Desirable:

    • Experience with device management and security controls (Intune/Endpoint Manager and Conditional Access)
    • Experience with enterprise collaboration governance and M365 security posture management tools
    • Exchange on-premise and hybrid deployments (MS Exchange 2019 / Subscription Edition)
    • Mimecast secure email gateway, email hygiene policies, email archiving and ediscovery
    • Understanding of SMTP, transport rules and mail flow and queues
    • Experience with SPF, DKIM and DMARC principles and technologies
    • Experience with the SaaS Atlassian Suite – Confluence and/or JIRA

    Qualifications:

    • AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals is a requirement and a foundational building block for all D&T staff
    • Any additional foundational certifications like MS-900 / SC-900 / AI-900 would be advantageous
    • Any of the following Associate certifications (which is a building block for M365 Admin Expert):*
    • SC-300: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
    • MS-700: Teams Administrator Associate
    • MD-102: Endpoint Administrator Associate
    • MS-102: M365 Administrator Expert **
    • Any previously recognized SharePoint or Exchange certifications would be advantageous

    IB and Credit Portfolio Business Analyst and Support Role

    Description

    • Investec Sandton is looking for a Business Analyst for the LCIB Business within ICIB tech, who would be fully responsible for supporting and maintaining our LCIB Business operations and tech platforms. You are responsible for your area of specialization, as well as for all aspects of analysis from interacting with stakeholders and users, to design, document and root cause unpacking, through to production monitoring and support.

    • Planning and monitoring incidents, enhancements, technical fixes with documentation of requirements and regular reporting.
    • Continuous Learning and Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies, keep up with industry trends, and adapt to evolving development practices and tools. Ability to use own judgement to make quick decisions.
    • Identify potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business sustainability.
    • Working Closely with Colleagues, developers, testers and variety of end users toensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
    • Continuous improvement within the business-as-usual processes by keeping up to date with technical and industry developments. Documentation of existing functionality should be maintained and updated accordingly to the improvements made.
    • Analyze complex technical problems to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive strategic decision-making and improve stabilization of the platform.
    • Complete ownership and responsibility of our platform that services our clients, facilitating smooth communication and problem resolution.
    • Understand SDLC, agile methodology, design and process mapping tools. 5 Years Business Analysis experience in a cross section of Application environments, preferably in Banking (CIB Businesses)
    • Strong SQL skills are required

    Fullstack Developer (PB Tech - Equation)

    Description

    • Investec Sandton is looking for a Fullstack developer (at least 7 years' experience) in the Private Bank Tech – Equation team who will be part of the full application life cycle including, but not limited to, the evaluation of business requirements, system analysis and design, writing of technical specifications and diagrams, programming, unit testing, maintenance, and technical support of our applications.
