    QC/Production Team Lead

    About the role

    • In this role, you are responsible for converting materials into work in progress or finished product by formally executing production schedule. Ensuring compliance to SOP’s for process related manufacturing jobs/tasks in the Production Department. 
    • Maintaining product quality and adherence to GMP. Ensuring all relevant Quality and Food Safety are checks are completed and findings are actioned accordingly. 

    Key responsibilities

    • Support the team to convert material into work in progress (WIP) or finished product by formally executing production schedule. 
    • Develop and ensure compliance to SOP’s for process related manufacturing jobs / tasks in the Production Department
    • Maintain product quality and adherence to GMP
    • Support the production team by rectifying / escalating any production issues as they occur
    • Document the issues according to standard operating procedures and report them for further investigation and problem solving.
    • Standard Operating Procedures and complete / receive relevant hand-over documentation / communication to next shift / from previous shift to ensure continuity.
    • Cover essential elements of Group Leader role in the event of unplanned absenteeism
    • Ensure that internal Quality and SHE audits are carried out to verify compliance against defined standards and codes of practice. 
    • Assist with customer / 3rd Party audit process as it relates to factory aspects as required

    Qualifications and skills

    • 2 -3 years’ experience as a Quality Analyst, at least 1 year of which of working at team lead level or equivalent within the manufacturing function

    Flavourist

    About the role

    The role supports flavour sales growth, flavour creation, flavour production and flavour library by working efficiently to support customer briefs while maintaining a vision of what will work best for customers.
    Extend capabilities by collaborating with other flavourists to support initiatives and projects.
    Develop flavours and interact with customers, other flavourists, sensory scientists, production, and suppliers to ensure that goals are met and that briefs are completed in a timely manner.
    Have significant experience in his/her area of expertise and continue to share knowledge in flavour development.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Create new and innovative flavour profiles
    • Work together with the end use applications teams to develop integrated flavour solutions
    • Learn and understand Kerry technologies in order to create differentiating flavour solutions
    • Support taste innovation programs through acquired knowledge and technologies available at Kerry.
    • Ability to formulate flavours that meet all regulatory guidelines and restrictions. Formulation of spray dried flavours, flavour emulsions, top notes and flavour extracts.
    • Ability to work with the flavour analytical group.
    • Have adequate understanding of GC/MS and other industry standards for flavour analysis.
    • Be a team player, able to work individually, also as part of the wider team.
    • Acquire a good understanding of the markets in which we operate and be able to interact at a high level of professionalism with customers.
    • Establish professional relationships and be a good communicator with commercial teams.
    • Support the development of Flavourist Trainees where required.

    Qualifications and skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Life Sciences, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or relevant industry experience
    • 5+ years of active flavour work on the bench
    • Good background in organic chemistry, food chemistry, flavour applications.
    • Good math skills for problem-solving calculations.
    • Strong trouble-shooting skills
    • Strong and discerning sense of smell and taste
    • Cross category flavour experience is preferred, but specialized knowledge in flavours for sweet and beverage applications is essential.
    • Demonstrates passion for flavour creations
    • Demonstrates strong ability for problem-solving and complaint resolution
    • Demonstrates strong ability to work with cross-functional teams at multi levels within the organization.

    Marketing Specialist

    Key responsibilities

    INSIGHTS & RESEARCH

    • Drive consumer research to develop actionable consumer and market insights:
    • Analysis and interpretation of consumer data
    • Competitor analysis
    • Develop consumer insights to support Kerry’s Insights Sales’ approach to selling
    • Market analysis / segmentation
    • Manage local market research and consumer insights agency projects
    • Develop strong working relationship with central marketing insights and communications team to develop customer presentation materials with consistent Kerry portfolio messaging and brand design relevant to the relevant-markets and customers.
    • Pro-actively reaching out to other regions to “lift and shift” & make the information relevant for the South Africa market
    • Circulating regular Internal & External updates containing Market Trends & how Kerry technology can capitalize on trends

    STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT & EXECUTION

    • Manage, facilitate and influence the planning and coordination of market and account strategies with the business management team for the region, with a strong focus on the highlighted growth accounts
    • Engage current and target customers on key strategic initiatives
    • Lead the delivery of strategic and tactical marketing plans to Sales team and external customers
    • Partner with global Kerry peers in the marketing function to coordinate strategies on key global and regional accounts

    MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

    • Deliver customer intelligence to facilitate the creation of commercial presentations and strategy development.
    • Align customer marketing objectives with broader Kerry strategy
    • Support the commercial team in preparation and delivery of professional presentations to customers (e.g. assist with presentation preparation, create support material, etc.)
    • Provide marketing support for commercial teams in the zone for customer development activities e.g. customer strategy presentations, market / category analysis as required
    • Coordinate key customer engagement in close consultation with the RD&A and Commercial teams.

    OPERATIONAL EXECUTION

    • Project management of key customer initiatives
    • Collaborate with marketing colleagues from other regions as required to share insight and assist in marketing initiatives requiring support from the SSA zone
    • Partner with the research, development and application teams to develop and execute sustainable training and development programs to effectively transform Kerry capabilities into customized value propositions for customers.
    • Supporting the research, development and application team in product ideation, development and execution
    • Identify and develop new products and applications to grow the business, with regards to portfolio analysis (gaps) and the market environment and opportunities to maximize contribution and market share of our products
    • Conducting Market Mapping exercises across key technologies & highlighting gaps in the Kerry portfolio
    • Developing Insight-led content to support concepts across the Kerry technologies. Ability to develop creative content across the following platforms: PowerPoint, Infographics, Blog posts or Video
    • Supporting and arranging Kerry Marketing activities in South Africa e.g. positioning Kerry as the Taste and Nutrition leader, Advertising, Tradeshows etc.
    • Partner with and influence stakeholders at all levels, providing well-grounded strategic recommendations and delivering on marketing executional excellence. Collaborate with cross function teams to dig out more business opportunities and gain new wins

    Qualifications and skills

    • Completed Business/Marketing Degree or equivalent
    • Atleast 3 - 4 years' relevant working experience, B2B marketing preferred
    • FMCG Food and Beverage Marketing background advantageous 
    • Valid Driver's Licence and own transport
