ABOUT THE ROLE

• Our Therapy Group Practice at Nurture Aurora in Gqeberha is looking for a Physiotherapist to join their team. Nurture Health provides medical care, and acute and sub-acute rehabilitation treatment for people with a wide range of disabilities caused by disease or injuries. These include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, neurological disorders, orthopaedic conditions, and other debilitating conditions and illnesses. Our organisation helps people who have become physically or cognitively impaired with the means to lead meaningful lives, regardless of any disability they may have acquired or circumstances they are returning to.

REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

• Degree in Physiotherapy
• Current HPSCA registration and malpractice insurance
• Up to date CPD status
• >3 years’ experience in a rehabilitation environment
• Special interest / expertise within neurology and orthopaedics

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Provide physiotherapy interventions to patients referred to the facility.
• Determine clinical diagnosis and provide physiotherapy treatment plan indicated as an autonomous practitioner.
• Diagnosis, assessment and management of people with disabling conditions on an in-patient and out-patient basis.
• Develop appropriate packages of care, giving clinical and professional advice to patients, Carers and other healthcare professionals.
• Responsible for physiotherapy treatment.
• To be a source of expertise and advice for support staff.
• Available to work on a weekend / public holiday on rotation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centered, evidence-based rehabilitation to patients with communication, speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to improving functional outcomes and enhancing quality of life for patients in a supportive and professional environment.
• Our group practice at Nurture Stellenbosch in the Western Cape is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech Therapist (Fixed term) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• Current HPCSA registration and Malpractice Insurance
• Up to date CPD status
• Experience in a rehabilitation environment advantageous
• Special interest / expertise within Neurological conditions
• Valid driver’s license with own transport

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Good written and spoken English language skills (Afrikaans and Xhosa will be advantageous)
• Willing to work in acute, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation environments
• Awareness of evidence base for interventions
• Computer literacy (assessment and weekly reports for medical funders and Microsoft Office Suite)
• Ability to self-manage; prioritize workload, and adaptability
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills within a team setting
• Analysis; decision making and initiative-taking
