Role Purpose
- The Personal Lines Underwriter provides effective and efficient underwriting services to support business strategy, retain existing clients, and secure new business. This role ensures compliance with company standards, regulatory frameworks, and quality assurance processes while delivering a positive client experience.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Financial & Business Performance
- You will help meet new business and binder fee targets, retain existing clients, and contribute to minimising general expenses. Your decisions and actions will directly support the company’s financial objectives and growth strategy.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Clear, timely, and professional communication with clients, account executives, and insurers is essential.
- You will build and maintain strong relationships, keep clients informed, and ensure client satisfaction targets are consistently met.
Underwriting & Business Processes
- You will manage the end-to-end underwriting process for new business, renewals, endorsements, re-broke policies, cancellations, and refunds.
- This includes conducting risk assessments, analysing client portfolios, obtaining and assessing insurer quotes, rating policies, arranging valuations and reinsurance, issuing premiums, and maintaining accurate electronic and hard-copy records.
- You will also handle cancellations and refunds in line with company processes, ensure upselling opportunities are maximised, and escalate or report suspected fraud or misrepresentation.
