    Technician II

    Purpose of Job

    • The purpose of the job is to assist with the everyday operation of the plant, fault finding, programming on C&I equipment and overall improvement of problem areas. Ensures the condition (predictive maintenance) are adhered on all plant’s instrumentation equipment and deviations addressed prior to failure. Accountable for the full value chain of engineering solutions and governance in his/her area of responsibility, owns execution, auditing and management of plant equipment, PLC and SCADA programming.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Ability to read electrical drawings and interpret them
    • Trouble shooting and fault finding on control and Instrumentation systems
    • Planning and execution of tasks
    • Experience in production environment on maintenance and repair of Control and Instrumentation equipment
    • Computer literate (Must)
    • Knowledge and experience of PLC programming and interpretation (Allen Bradley PLC), VSD configuration and troubleshooting, Conveyor belt pull key systems, Environmental monitoring systems, Basic optic fiber and copper network systems. (Ethernet, Modbus RTU), SCADA and Reporting systems. (RS-View SE SCADA, Historian, Data Logging, Vantage Point), Level control systems, Scales, Ability to improve on control &  instrumentation systems.

    Snr Artisan Diesel Mechanic

    Purpose of Job

    • To observe operation of automotive machines and verify conformance to specifications and quality standards to meet production targets.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Proven competence in pre-identified areas per discipline of the plant/mine/equipment/systems.
    • Understand and use the plant maintenance documentation system.
    • Understand planning work management system.
    • Relevant plant/mine specific/basic process knowledge.
    • Compliance of Safety Management Systems e.g. IMS, MBO, etc.
    • Able to apply emergency procedures.
    • Read, interpret, and implement task risk assessment.
    • Hazard identification/task risk assessments.
    • Participates in daily morning meetings to discuss work assignments.
    • Support the goals and vision of the business by meeting deadlines.
    • Provides adequate feedback to supervisor on work progress.
    • Participates in root cause analyses, and provides feedback to RCA teams.
    • Participates in risk assessments according to legislation and company requirements to improve safety.
    • Maintains good housekeeping and adheres to waste disposal procedures.
    • Share knowledge with junior artisans in known environment/context.
    • Participates in quarterly performance appraisal with group leader to improve personal development.
    • Identifies personal training and development needs, and incorporates into PDP with group leader's approval.
    • Lead by example (walks the talk).
    • Assists with the development of works instructions to develop a higher level of staff competency.
    • Take the lead in team efforts/tasks.
    • Able to act as group leader (if appropriate to career path).
    • Contribute to overall maintenance strategy and direction.
    • Mentor learners/artisans informally.
    • Conducts My IMS (physical inspections to maintain and improve plant sustainability).
    • Work effectively in a team.
    • Attends and interacts in PDAs and RCAs to improve plant safety and stability.
    • Provides adequate feedback to group leader or planning officer on work progress.
    • Ensures the correct history feedback is captured to improve renewals/ upgrades and critical spares are replaced.
    • Gives input at toolbox talks to improve plant safety.

    Formal Education

    • National Senior Certificate / N3 Certificate (Mathematics, Physical Science & English) 
    • Occupational Trade Certificate (Diesel Mechanic)

    Working Experience

    • Experience: 4+ relevant years

    Operator Tractor

    Purpose of Job

    • To operate Mining related machinery and equipment within designed parameters in order to reduce waste and optimise operating cost.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Complete job specific task/checklist accurately.
    • Visual inspection of working environment ensuring safety standards are adhered to and reporting any unsafe conditions to superior.
    • Application of job specific SOP's and COP's to ensure housekeeping standards are Upheld.
    • Function efficiently and effectively as part of a team to work towards achieving team Goals.
    • Sensitive on how your actions affect the cost of your team, identify and act on cost saving initiatives.
    • Report all task activities.
    • Use of basic hand tools
    • Tack weld of items on shop floor
    • Operation of stationery equipment
    • Must be able to use measuring equipment
    • Basic knowledge in the use of Gas cutting equipment
    • Assist with the operation of overhead crane and lifting equipment according to safe working procedures

    Formal Qualifications

    • Grade 12 with the valid tractor license.
    • Level 2 Mechanical completed (wish)
    • First Aid certificate
    • Able to obtain a Medical certificate of fitness
    • 5 Gasses/Competent A or B

    Working Experience

    • Experience: 1+ relevant years
