    Catering Manager (Western Cape)

    Job Context

    Servest Catering ,the division of the Servest Group has an exciting opportunity for a catering manager in Waterfront .The successful incumbent will be responsible for running one of our most prestigious sites.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12) 
    • Basic Computer Literacy – Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet
    • Food & Beverage Management Qualification
    • 2 years in Management and Hospitality / Restaurant Experience
    • Driver’s License code 8
    • Be of even temper and be able to work for a dynamic team
    • Able to work under pressure and time deadlines and be organized

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Ensure delivery of a quality food and beverage service
    • Plan and cost menus
    • Liaise with suppliers and place orders
    • Oversee / sign off cash-up procedures and bank all monies
    • Manage staff compliment, including administration, staff roistering, delivery of induction and learning and development, monitoring performance
    • Maintain presence during meal times ensuring inter alia, portion control, diner satisfaction, service excellence, hygiene maintenance, food and beverage sufficiency
    • Interact with diners and attend to matters arising
    • Monitor diner satisfaction and action areas of concern
    • Ensure all administrative work is completed, including payroll variations, book work, health, safety and security records, employee records
    • Monitor security within designated area, reporting any suspicious persons or packages
    • Conduct the necessary inspections and checks, reporting and auctioning non-conformances
    • Initiate waste control and recycling measures and ensure management thereof
    • Hold regular fire drills and effect evacuation procedures
    • Report incidents and accidents
    • Act appropriately in the event of a breach in health, safety and / or security standards / legislation

    Call Order Cook/Food Service Assistant

    Job Context

    Servest Catering ,a division of the Servest Group has an excellent opportunity for a Call order Cook/Food Service Assistant  to join our busy team.This is for one of the sites in the Western Cape.The incumbent will be expected to handle all aspects of food preparation in a small eatery. The order cook's responsibilities include keeping food preparation areas clean, grilling, cooking, and frying foods, taking orders, serving dishes to customers, and ordering and stocking kitchen and food supplies.

    • Understanding of catering and food safety

    • Performing simple food preparation tasks, such as slicing up meats and vegetables.
    • Completing orders from steam tables, plating the food, and serving to the customers.
    • Accepting payments and making change.

    Regional SHEQ Manager - Cape Coastal

    Minimum Requirements

    • National Senior Certificate / Grade 12.
    • Degree in a Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality related field.
    • Post Graduate qualification in a business field will be an advantage
    • ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 implementation internal / lead auditor certifications.
    • ISO 22000 implementation experience
    • HACCP certification / training
    • 5-10 years' relevant experience in SHEQ, of which the 5 years should be in a managerial position.
    • Experience in implementation and maintenance of SHEQ management system
    • Experience in SHEQ and risk strategy implementation
    • Exposure to and understanding of implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Environmental Acts, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, HACCP and ISO 45001.
    • Risk Management, Auditing and compliance.
    • Fair and consistent interpretation and application of SHEQ regulations, procedures, statutory requirements & ISO SHEQ standards.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Support Group SHERQ in drafting and effecting SHERQ strategy and plans in the Inland Region.
    • Ensure SHERQ management system is implemented and maintained in accordance with the requirements of the standards.
    • Review and develop all aspects of SHERQ activities, ensuring implementation consistently across the Divisions and Departments in the Region
    • Drive business risk reduction programs.
    • Fulfil advisory role in SHERQ and Risk matters.
    • Manage SHERQ incidents (reporting to close out).
    • Develop and manage provision of all SHEQ training through the SHEQ team.
    • Development and mentor the SHERQ team.
    • Provide oversight over the IMS processes to ensure they are delivering their intended outputs.
    • Ensure that data with regards to SHERQ performance is effectively captured and analysed to enable improvement plans to be developed.
