Governance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Accounting

• Responsible for the day-to-day management of AP, AR, and Treasury functions.
• Cash Flow Forecasting.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
• Review and approve payments.
• Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements and statutory audits.
• Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register.
• VAT Returns.
• Assist with Budgets and Forecasting.

Management Accounting

• Preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Work with Budget Holders to provide insight on monthly overhead costs and influence forecasting.
• Control of Cost Centre Management.
• Seek opportunities to create cost and efficiency savings.
• Preparation and posting of month-end accruals and prepayments.

General

• Develop financial reporting and internal controls that comply with company policy.
• Assist the Finance Controller with ad hoc projects.
• Carry out all duties and responsibilities in relation to the business of the Company.
• Develop the necessary skills required for daily functioning.
• Provide input into own Personal Development Plan.
• Keep up-to-date with new technical knowledge and apply it to the job.

• We're seeking a young and enthusiastic Senior Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join a fast growing, medium sized Cloud Accounting and Consulting practice in Edenvale, Gauteng. The practice provides SME’s with accounting and related services. The practice places a high emphasis on a fun, but hard - working work environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Processing of financial transactions – cashbooks; journals etc
• Reconciliations of cashbooks; bank and General Ledgers.
• Accounts payable and reconciliations.
• Debtor invoicing.
• Ad-hoc tasks as requested by management.

Desired Qualification & Experience:

• You will have a BCom Accounting Degree; or Diploma or Certificate in Accounting/Bookkeeping from a recognized tertiary educational institution.
• Proficient in XERO; and exposure to Hubdoc and Dext advantageous.
• You will probably have spent some time performing accounting work for clients, while you were employed by an accounting practice.
• Role is client facing, and strong communication skills are a must, and you must enjoy people inter – action.
