    Junior Management Accountant (Contract)

    Purpose of the position: 

    • Responsible for the gathering and analyzing of financial information, supporting and developing budgets, reporting, information dissemination and analysis. This role will provide direct support to the Reporting Specialist and the finance team including: month end processes, audit preparation and execution and other ad hoc tasks.           

    Minimum Requirements    

    • BComm (Finance) Degree with at least 1 year of financial reporting experience OR
    • Finance/Management Accounting Diploma with 3–5 years of experience
    • Working knowledge of SAP accounting systems
    • Proficiency in Microsoft packages (intermediate Excel level skills)
    • Clear criminal record

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Budgeting

    • Prepare project specific and organisational budgets as and when needed on templates provided
    • Assist with budget development in support of new business activities
    • Ensuring that organisational policies are taken into account in all budgeting processes

    Reporting

    • Prepare monthly project specific financial reports in the required external and internal templates
    • Prepare monthly reporting as required
    • Ensures that all reports are reconciled to the underlying financial system
    • Ensure that all required reconciliations and resolutions of differences are completed on a monthly basis to check completeness and accuracy of reporting
    • Ensures all monthly financial reporting and supporting documentation are prepared and submitted to funders on time
    • Provides necessary reports to the Reporting Specialist for monthly reporting reviews
    • Work with the Reporting Specialist to provide analysis of financial reporting and share insights with relevant staff
    • Provide insight into whether organisational policies are being adhered to from review of the financial reports
    • Prepare reconciliations between theoretical cash and cash per the bank statement

     Forecasting

    • Prepare accurate forecasting for projects by working with the financial management team and relevant programme staff
    • Clearly documents and provides insight to management on the assumptions used for forecasting

    Administration

    • Ensures that budgets, reports, forecasts or presentations are prepared in the required templates and are quality controlled
    • Ensures that rules and regulations are appropriately incorporated into budgets and that adherence is maintained within the organisation
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Ensures that all work is clearly documented, filed and backed up as necessary
    • Performs routine tasks to support management accountant with reporting as and when required
    • Ensures that all supporting documentation is collated per funder requirements and submitted timeously

    Stakeholder engagement

    • Maintains and builds productive relationships with external stakeholders (funders, government, auditors etc.)
    • Maintains and builds productive relationships with internal stakeholders across various departments

    Financial management support

    • Assists the financial management team in:
    • Finalising month end processes (preparing/reviewing of batches, month end journals).
    • Preparing for and executing efficient and compliant audit processes.
    • Monitor and review the validity, accuracy and completeness of the financial accounts.
    • Support the finance team in meeting deadlines, while maintaining quality standards

    TB/HIV Coordinator_ Amathole

    Purpose of the position:

    • Responsible for the effective implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of health interventions in TB HIV Care-supported sites to ensure integrated TB and HIV screening, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and continuity of care including data management

    Minimum Requirements    

    • National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Sciences
    • Registration with professional body (SANC)
    • Integrated TB, HIV and STI mangement training
    • At least 10 – 15 years’ relevant experience in TB and HIV programs
    • Additional training in HIV/AIDS, TB and STIs, communicable diseases and NCD management would be an added advantage
    • Ability to communicate in isiXhosa and English or another South African language
    • Valid code 08 driver’s licence
    • Clear criminal record

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Program Management:

    • Optimize diagnosis and treatment of TB disease to prevent TB-related mortality
    • Support rapid initiation of TB treatment in newly diagnosed PLHIV and subsequent timeous initiation of ART in HIV positive TB patients, as per guidelines
    • Intensify documentation of HIV status for new and relapsed registered TB patients
    • Ensure appropriate adjustment of ART regimens in TB/HIV patients to avoid drug-drug interactions
    • Support attaining high-quality TB screening coverage in PLHIV
    • Ensure all PLHIV are screened for TB
    • Conduct monthly DQA of TB/HIV screening and results across data sources
    • Support DoH in implementation of the point-of-care lateral flow lipoarabinomannan (LF-LAM) TB screening in severely immunocompromised patients
    • Monitor TPT initiations, completions and documentation
    • Conduct monthly DQA on TPT eligibility and initiations across data sources

    Training and Mentorship:

    • Training facility Data Capturers on how to navigate the TB patient file to find all the information to be captured on Tier.Net including HIV status
    • Ongoing training of clinicians on the integrated management of TB/HIV patients
    • Support HIV/TB integration through mentorship

    Data Management:

    • Collaborate with DoH and Tier.Net key implementers to mitigate data access issues
    • Develop SOPs to standardize the TB/HIV MER indicator reporting as the data must be pulled from both the TB module and HIV module on Tier.Net
    • Work with the district health management teams and Tier.Net key implementers and the system developers to support a seamless transition of the TB module into Tier.Net
    • Ensure that the electronic HTS module and TB module on Tier.Net are activated in all facilities
    • Facilitate comprehensive collection and reporting of the TB/HIV indicators

    Infection Prevention Control:

    • Implementation of facility-infection control readiness, including infection control practices
    • Screening/separation of those with TB  symptoms
    • Fast track vulnerable patients in facilities such as the elderly or pregnant women
    • Implement chronic care service delivery points that are separate from TB  testing and care points in open-air environments

    Data Capturer_ Chris Hani _Ngcobo

    Purpose of the position:

    • The Data Capturer supports the M&E specialist in capturing and consolidating facility and partner data. The District Data Capturer is responsible for consolidating weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12
    • Tertiary qualification would be advantageous
    • Trained on TIER.Net software and/or previous experience with TIER.Net data capturing and reporting
    • Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS
    • Minimum of two years’ experience in working with DoH data/M&E systems (from patient-record level to DHIS level);
    • Experience in data collection and capturing
    • Experience with data capturing or collection within the public health sector will be advantageous.
    • Familiarity with the public health sector and District Health System will be advantageous

    Peer Coordinator_PWID (uMgungundlovu)

    Purpose of the position:

    •  In addition to all the responsibilities of a peer educator, to coordinate peer educators in providing a comprehensive mobile and fixed site wellness service, primarily to people who inject drugs (PWID). This involves ensuring that peer educator work schedules are organized, monitoring peer performance of duties, and ensuring that peer reporting is consistent..

    Minimum Requirements    
    Education

    • Matric 
    • Up to one-month related training

    Advantageous

    • Training on HIV Counselling and Testing.

    Job requirements:

    Work Experience

    • Previous experience as a peer educator/ case manager or outreach worker (1 year minimum)
    • Previous experience as a peer educator/ outreach worker in the substance use environment (6 months)

    Driving:

    • Ability to drive and in possession of Code 8 or 10
    • (PDP being an added advantage)

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Ensure that outreach to all areas and locations is done as scheduled, by the requisite complement of peer educators
    • Coordinate peers in properly conducting programmatic and mapping outreach activities, as per the relevant protocols, under supervision of the PNC
    • Ensure that the DIC is staffed during operating hours by the requisite complement of peer educators
    • Ensure that peer educator reporting on clients seen and interventions conducted at the DIC and on outreach is done correctly and timeously
    • Ensure that peer educators adhere to association policies, procedures, and standards. This includes ensuring that peer educators complete and submit all necessary documents correctly and on time
    • Work with peer educators in providing the comprehensive package of services to outreach areas and locations, as scheduled.
    • Complete relevant work tools correctly and submit for data reporting
    • Refer clients to the mobile clinic and promote other programme services as appropriate
    • Partaking in information collection and consultation regarding programme development and improvement
    • Identifying PWID areas and locations for mobilization
    • Educating PWID on HIV prevention interventions, sexual health and human rights
    • Conducting outreach to distribute condoms, lubricants and IEC materials

    • Monitoring Human Rights violations observed or reported by PWID and document these observations and interventions
    • Assisting with managing client crises, if needed
    • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of outreach activities and compile a summary of activities to be submitted to the line manager on a weekly basis
    • Reporting back to the Line Manager any positive or negative feedback from PWID clients and general community
    • Ensuring safety and that rules are respected at all times while on duty
    • Providing support and encouragement to PWID

    Skills and Competencies    

    • Ability to read, review, provide input and feedback on outreach activities
    • Write reports/minutes, business correspondence and develop Standard Operating Procedures/Work Instructions (SOPs/WIs), Work plans, templates, etc.
    • Effectively present information as part of behaviour-change intervention and respond to questions
    • Conduct site profiling and estimate PWID at a location
    • Complete all data tools, registers and up-dated monthly reports on all activities concerning the project
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
