    Research Manager – Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The incumbent responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

    • Providing operational, research and administrative laboratory support services for the research groups in the core FABI complex;
    • Contributing to strategic planning regarding molecular biology tools, bioinformatics and data management systems;
    • Training and mentorship of postgraduate students as well as visiting scientists and students;
    • Providing sustainable bioinformatics support and data management and analysis for the students and research projects;
    • Performing laboratory-based investigations by undertaking technical and experimental tasks.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    MSc in applicable Molecular Biology field with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the following:

    • Molecular Biology laboratory research;
    • Bioinformatics and Genomics research;
    • Research and data management.

    Department of TuksSport - Junior Accountant

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:

    • Financial administration is not limited to processing journal transfers, advances, claims, and requisitions.
    • Invoicing of clients and reconciliation of debtors' age analysis,
    • Preparation of monthly financial statements, 
    • Providing financial management support to the TuksSport department

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related qualification, should have accounting as a module
    • 3 years of experience in Financial Administration
    • 1 year of experience with Sage Pastel

    Senior Graphic Designer (One Post), Department for Education Innovation

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Graphic Design:

    • Develop compelling visual concepts that meet University branding standards and client needs.
    • Employ graphic design software, stay updated on emerging tools, and manage both print and digital deliverables.

    Project Management:

    • Prepare quotes, manage schedules, adjust projects, and ensure objectives and budgets are met;
    • Coordinate multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and collaborate with the line manager to deliver high-quality results that align with client and University standards.

    Administration:

    • Implement data backup protocols, oversee printing projects, and maintain thorough documentation;
    • Stay current with industry trends, adopt new technologies, and foster communication with service providers to optimise creative services.

    Consultation:

    • Provide tailored advice on procedures, product selection, and best practices, ensuring project clarity and efficiency;
    • Build strong relationships with clients and suppliers to foster collaboration and elevate project quality.

    Information Design & Project Research:

    • Analyse project objectives, gather relevant content, collaborate with clients, and ensure copyright compliance;
    • Utilise diverse information sources to create accurate and effective visual representations.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct quality checks, provide constructive feedback, and set benchmarks to ensure outputs meet or exceed University expectations.
    • Continuously refine creative processes for optimal outcomes.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's/B.Tech degree or National Diploma in Information Design or Graphic Design;

    At least five years of experience in:

    • Management of graphic design projects;
    • Knowledge in graphic design: Demonstrates mastery in at least one area of graphic design, whether print or digital, showcasing proficiency in advanced techniques and methodologies;
    • Specialist knowledge: Possesses specialist expertise in one or more of the following areas: Illustration, print media, animation and 3D design, web design, multimedia design;
    • Understanding of graphic design and audio-visual media;
    • Proficiency in working languages;
    • Receptiveness to art direction.
