    Business Development Manager- Solar - Africa

    • Reporting to the Sales Manager – MEA Region, the Business Development Manager – Africa will develop OTT HydroMet Solar business in the Africa region, Identify and manage Channel Partners and drive monthly / quarterly / annual sales plan, collaborate with other functions to deliver organization objectives for the region identify early-stage opportunities, relationship development with key customers and partners.  This position is responsible for driving sales for OTT HydroMet with existing and new Channel Partners / Key Accounts across the Solar segments resulting in incremental growth of revenue and profitability.
    • This position is part of the OTT HydroMet Global Solar sales team and will be based out of South Africa and will be remote with office visits as required (Office: HACH South Africa PTY LTD In Randburg)

    In this role, a typical day will look like:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy across the African region to drive revenue growth and market penetration.
    • Achieve assigned financial objectives and KPIs through monthly forecasting of funnel additions, bookings, and revenue, as well as geographical expansion and share-of-wallet growth.
    • Communicate OTT HydroMet’s vision and value proposition effectively to customers and partners, enhancing the company’s brand reputation in the renewable energy sector.
    • Act as the primary custodian of customer relationships, working cross-functionally to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Continuously assess channel partners and target accounts, define their growth potential, and develop strategies to capture that growth.
    • Conduct regular engagement & door crossing events with key account decision-makers to drive revenue through upselling and cross-selling of solar solutions.
    • Manage and evaluate regional performance using key KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions to achieve business goals.
    • Evaluate current sales activities, identifying strengths and areas for improvement to meet current and future aggressive growth objectives.
    • Identify new prospects and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, engineering consultants, System Integrators, EPCs, and other key influencers within the territory.
    • Negotiate and actively support the execution of contracts, complex projects / service and customer-specific product development initiatives through various internal departments including Legal, Finance, R&D, Strategic Marketing, Sales, Service and Customer Support
    • Monitor and analyze competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market positioning to refine our sales strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
    • Lead and execute sales activities, including Door Crossing events through customer visits and virtual meetings, participation in trade shows and seminars, product demonstrations, customer seminars & trainings and channel management.

    The essential requirements of the job include:  

    • Bachelor’s degree is required in Engineering / Science, MBA preferred.
    • Minimum  8- 10  years of progressive sales experience.
    • 5+ years of sales experience with Channel Partner & Key Accounts in Power Sector / Electrical products / Renewable Energy / Electronics / Metering business. instrumentation or environmental technology is a strong advantage
    • Experience managing sales across African markets, with a clear understanding of regional dynamics, project-based business, and EPC/developer ecosystems.
    • Fluent written and spoken English , knowledge of French would help.
    • Ability to travel as required.

    Sales Account Manager for Africa

    • The Sales Account Manager for Africa is going to be point of contact for customers, industrial partners and channel partners in the region. Sales of the full Esko product range within the Packaging segment in Africa

    Main responsibilities and key activities:

    Sales prospecting for new businesses, managing existing accounts, consisting of direct accounts, resellers and the customers of our resellers.

    • Selling full Esko portfolio, with focus towards value selling to the customer with focused approach in Software and Flexo CTP for customers.
    • Provide effective solutions for our customers; detect and amplify create add-on sales opportunities in cooperation with the application sales manager
    • Establishing good business contacts - Generate competitive proposals - Pursue strategies for targeted projects - Meeting & exceeding sales targets
    • Keep abreast of developments & business opportunities in the markets you cover and be focused on the follow-up of these opportunities by applying appropriate sales, negotiation & closing techniques
    • Implementing the go-to-market strategy for new products and new markets
    • Provide market intelligence and feedback on competitors’ pricing & position in the respective segments to enable appropriate marketing plans to be developed for driving growth.
    • Being disciplined in using Salesforce and the various CRM & IT application tools available in our organization to enable you to better manage your sales process and share information.
    • Observing the market and representing Esko in the Graphic arts community

    Qualifications and professional knowledge:

    • +5 years hands-on sales experience in a high-tech B2B environment /in digital printing/packaging or commercial solutions/IT. Practical experience with direct and indirect sales channels
    • Knowledge about the packaging industry and its actors is considered as a plus.
    • Broad understanding of SW and IT applications
    • Strong selling and negotiations skills – closing skills
    • Good working knowledge of English and French, Additional languages are surplus
