    Internal Controls Analyst

    Job Description

    • As an Internal Controls Analyst, you will work to ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls for the GSS business unit.

    Your key responsibilities will include: 

    • Perform ad-hoc and planned control reviews to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment
    • Engage with middle and senior management within the GSS as a part of control review and remediation activity
    • Support in the creation of control review reports, and provide feedback to operational delivery teams on control effectiveness
    • Support and deliver coaching and training to delivery teams on an effective control environment
    • Ensure that control deficiencies and associated remedial actions and plans are identified and agreed with process/control owners, and tracked to completion
    • To ensure that GSS comply with all controls related Group/External Compliance requirements
    • Confirm that control documentation is maintained, and reflect any changes in business operations and is relevant and consistent
    • Controls framework design: take a lead in the creation and enhancement of controls and processes impacting the GSS Finance and People Services (HR) controls
    • Support global transformation projects across Finance and People Services, including a SAP-4-HANA implementation
    • Facilitate the internal management attestation process over financial controls to ensure compliance with JSE and UKCR legislation
    • Support the GSS Incident Management Framework, assessing root causes, impacts and remedial actions required to manage and resolve operational incidents
    • Identify and understand the extent of risk exposure/control gaps identified through control and incident review

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Auditing, finance, commerce, accounting or compliance and governance law is essential
    • Knowledge of the Institute of Internal Auditors standards
    • Registered with the IIA as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA)
    • Completion of professional qualification would be advantageous
    • Strong knowledge (3-6 years of experience) in application of risk, controls, and compliance related principles within a SOX/ similar ICFR-based environment (either in-house or as an auditor/ advisory professional)
    • Experience in working with auditing principles and practices
    • Basic working knowledge of SAP would be an advantage
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experienced Microsoft Office user
    • Experience of using audit software

    Protection Services Supt Operations


    Job Description

    • As Protection Services Superintendent you will effectively manage and provide expert support for the implementation of best practice Protection Services systems in the Operation.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Co-ordinate and plan work for the Protection Services shift through effective liaison with Supervisors
    • Work scheduling for a Protection Services shift
    • Continuously liaise with the Senior Superintendent on protection strategy and policies
    • Monitoring security indicators and trends in the operation and identifying optimization proposals
    • Develop a trusting and mutual respectful relationship with stakeholders
    • Ensure that employees work in a safe and productive environment and set targets for improvements
    • Pro-actively identify and analyse risks and threats and recommend counter measures to prevent re-occurrence
    • This role is in the Protection Services Department at a D1 Level reporting to Protection Services Senior Superintendent.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12
    • Minimum 1st year completed towards qualification in Security Management / Investigation / Policing
    • Handle and use of a Shotgun, Handgun and Rifle for Business Purposes
    • Applicable firearm Unit Standard qualifications as well as Firearm Competency
    • Registered with the PSIRA grade A
    • Armed response qualification
    • Tactical Unit Standard Qualification (Advantageous)
    • Valid driver’s license code B
    • Valid public permit for code 10 & 14 (Advantageous)

    Experience and Technical Knowledge:

     

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Security or in a similar environment
    • 3 to 4 years’ experience in a Security supervisory position in a similar environment
    • Knowledge in Investigation / Information gathering / Logistics and / or Surveillance
    • If successful, you will be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Certification, criminal check as well as a polygraph test
    • This role will include shift work (currently 12 Hours shifts subject to change)

    Millwright

    Job Description:

    • We have 2 positions – x1 permanent and x1 fixed term contract for 12 months

    As a Millwright, your responsibilities will include:                                               

    • Prepare and plan work priority list and resource requirements in order to complete tasks.
    • Ensure that all planned maintenance schedules are accurately complied with and that all safety and legal requirements are carefully followed.
    • Ensure that materials and equipment are available for the shift requirements in the area.
    • Compile an accurate shift/work order reports and the necessary job cards relating to the task done including and description of work and spares used.
    • Comply to OM operating model principles and execute all work as per assigned shift requirements.
    • This role is in the Engineering department at a Band C2 level reporting to the Foreman. 

    Qualifications:

    Business Intelligence Analyst

    Job Description:

    • The Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) provides business insights utilising advanced Business Intelligence visualisation tools, to enable stakeholders’ data-driven decision-making around key strategic levers, whereby dashboard reporting maximises value delivered. The BIA utilises descriptive and diagnostic analytics to enable reporting on business insights based on historical trends. The BIA support to data driven projects through establishing business requirements, developing dashboards utilising advanced Business Intelligence tools, data validation, testing and preparation of associated test plans, dashboard training and drive automation of reports.  The BIA interprets business requirements as received from stakeholders in requests for reporting whereby data is transformed into the most appropriate dashboard layouts that meet the stakeholders’ business requirements

    The primary accountabilities will incorporate:

    • Complying with the BI Governance new or change request in developing automated dashboards
    • Logging of new or change requests in developing automated dashboards received by stakeholders
    • Discussion with manager to ascertain the acceptability, suitability, viability, organisational fit, sizing of workload and capacity availability of the request
    • Once agreed that the project should continue, an initial engagement is set-up with the relevant stakeholders where data availability, timelines, availability of SMEs for testing and appropriate visualisation tools are discussed and agreed
    • Establish business requirements based on new or change requests in developing automated dashboards submitted by stakeholders
    • Engage with the relevant stakeholders for approval of the Business Requirements Document (BRD)
    • Design and development of dashboards
    • Integrate different structured data sources from data warehouses and data extracts
    • Utilisation of tools such as SQL and writing SQL queries. 
    • Monitor consistency and accuracy of data collection throughout the data workflow end to end process
    • Present business insights brief that address areas of business value and opportunities to improve it
    • Provide business insight into what the data report is reflecting and / or present the data in a way that stakeholder can easily interpret what the data is illustrating
    • Effective communication of business insights using Data Visualisations (e.g. PowerBI dashboards) 
    • Engagements with stakeholders for input and feedback once the initial dashboard was designed and built
    • Final amendments to be made to dashboards based on feedback received from stakeholders
    • Involvement in data validation
    • Preparation of test plans and involvement in testing
    • Preparation of the project closure document
    • Maintain a suitable document repository for all dashboards and ensure that these folders / repositories are up to date and accessible by the relevant stakeholders. 
    • Maintain working instructions / reporting principles for all existing and new dashboards
    • Maintain absolute confidentiality around confidential personal employee data used when discussing with stakeholders as well as external contacts
    • Be familiar with the appropriate data security policies and governance in place. 
    • Attend bi-weekly check-in meetings with the Data Analysis and Business Intelligence function 
    • This role is at a Band 7 level, reporting to the Business Performance Reporting Coordinator.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Statistical Sciences/ Information Systems/ Informatics/ Commerce /Finance or HR

    Knowledge and skills required:

    • 2-5 years or more experience as BI Analyst 
    • New applications/software systems effectively and efficiently learned and implemented sustainably – PowerBI, SAC, SQL, VB 
    • Understanding of the business and business requirements 
    • Experience in Hr analytics and finance background
    • Excellent documenting and presentation skills 
    • Familiarity of Project methodologies 
    •  Ability to work with multiple structured data sources 
    • Must enjoy working with numbers and bringing structure to complex data sheets 
    • Experience with PowerBI is a requirement 
    • Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is a plus 
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    • Certified Competent as Electrician
    • 18 months’ post trade experience within the mining environment
    • MV Certification/ Training advantageous
    • Underground experience advantageous
    • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office
    • Code 8 driver’s license
