• Drive the integrity of data in the reconciliation of tonnage and grade
• Monitor and maintain data integrity
• Lead the provision of  real – time reporting
• Implement improvements on survey data collection systems
• Implementation of improvement and re-designed systems.
• Integration of continuous improvement methodology in the standards and procedures.
• Implementation of established systems.
• Implement systems to reduce system failures
• Drive innovations in costs savings
• Drive alignment of systems implementation in line with BML’s long term strategies.
• Identify and implement survey systems

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Mine survey certificate of competency
• NHD in mine survey will be advantageous
• Minimum 5 years mine experience as a senior surveyor
• Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience in a management position, including people management
• Exposure in a customer services environment
• Membership of PLATO* and IMSSA*(*PLATO – Professional Land and Technical surveyor’s organisation recognised worldwide and inclusive of SAMREC code will be advantageous
• Computer Literacy
• Valid certificate of physical fitness.

Description

• Conduct inspections at the various sites
• Conduct incident and accident investigations according to safety protocols and corporate
• Participate in safety audits including all logistical arrangements
• Facilitate Risk and Change Management process
• Planned inspections 30, 45, 90 days
• Co-ordinate safety meetings
• Provide statistics to management
• Conduct / Facilitate Risk Assessments
• Present Induction
• Ability to train and coach
• Conduct Visible Felt Leadership

Requirements

• Grade 12 qualification
• National Diploma in Safety and/or Engineering management will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of the MHSA and relevant Legislation.
• Metallurgical Process Plant experience
• Minimum 3 years’ engineering safety officer experience
• Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualification
• Valid certificate of physical fitness.
• Computer Literacy
• Health and Safety Inspection experience
• Vertical and Incline Shafts safety experience
• TMM and RBE risk management knowledge
• Engineering SAMTRAC and other related safety courses
• Risk assessment techniques (RCAT, ICAM, SCAT)
• Accident/Incident investigation experience. (Route Cause)
• Valid driver’s license
