Introduction

• Applications are invited to apply for the above mentioned position in the Quality division based at Distell Springs. The successful candidate will report to the Quality Manager.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Drive site compliance to Food Safety & Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Operate as the Quality & Food Safety subject matter expert (SME) in order to ensure the delivery of consistent high quality products in trade.
• Manage QESH documentation, audits and reviews.
• Ensure alignment between QESH systems.
• Manage non-conformances, corrective and preventative actions.
• Develop and implement Food safety, QMS and hygiene training programs at site.
• Implement and drive the hygiene strategy at site.
• Ensure hygiene governance throughout the site.
• Develop new hygiene practices and standards for implementation.
• Lead hygiene monitoring and measurement.
• Lead CIP improvement.
• Develop and drive GMP’s and the relevant oPRP’s and PRP’s across the site.
• Manage SLA adherence of cleaning and pest control contractors.

The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

• Relevant tertiary qualification in biological / food sciences.
• 10+ Years relevant experience in a FMCG environment.
• Food safety, QMS and hygiene SME.
• Previous experience in the implementation and management of QMS e.g. FSSC 22,000; ISO 9001 / 14,000 / 18000.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical site implications.
• Proven advanced computer literacy.
• Ability to develop competencies and transfer knowledge and skills to all relevant employees.
• Outstanding organizational and communication skills (verbal; written; presentation).
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
• Strong ability to translate concepts and strategies and put it into documented processes.

Purpose Of The Position

• Provides technical guidance and support to the business units in resolving incidents, problems and implementing change requests to the solution developed.

Key performance areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with business case development through interpretation of financial information, assistance with business case assumptions, etc.
• Research and report on relevant benchmarks (process benchmarking and metrics).
• Development and maintenance of professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and seminars, conducting research and benchmarking, etc.
• Business analytics through data gathering and analysis
• Interpretation of data and financial information, including statistical analysis
• Communication and sharing of data through reporting and visualisation.
• Report writing and preparation of presentations
• Hands-on fixing of incidents/problems and implementing enhancements to solutions developed, following standards and best practices
• Assist delivery team to transition new applications into production system
• Answer queries and provide training to business users on the specific solutions which have been developed
• Establish and maintain a highly collaborative relationship with all stakeholders within the business
• Establish effective networks, both inside and outside of the company

The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

• Relevant qualification (BSc Information Systems, BCom, Computer Science, or Engineering)
• Minimum 3 years BI application experience, of which QlikView, Qlik Sense, SAP BI tools, SAP Business objects (BOBJ), Tableau will be beneficial
• Knowledge and experience of project management, change management, facilitation and/or problem solving required
• Certified Six Sigma Black Belts, Lean Masters or TOC specialist will have an advantage
• Strong problem-solving ability – must have track record of formulating and delivering BI solutions with complex data that are business enablers
• Ability to work across functional areas and multiple locations
