    Emerson Automation Solutions currently has a new role for a Technician to be based in our Johannesburg office, South Africa that offers technical skills enhancement and individual growth opportunity

    The position is responsible to supply general maintenance services to Emerson Final Control customers, and to carry out general WACC activities such as design and building of Valve Actuation Packages.

    Responsibilities

    • Work within your team and with customers to ensure that Emerson goals and objectives are set in a continuous basis and our customers are ensured of a high level of service.
    • Ensure effective management of your individual work load.
    • Support and work with peers, other departments and customers to meet mutual goals and objectives when and as necessary, in respect to services. A high degree of teamwork and close team cooperation as well as close communication with other companies, departments and personnel, within Emerson, to deliver high quality service and customer satisfaction, is required (Both technical and general).
    • To play an active part in improvement of processes and systems and further develop and retain existing accounts in terms of looking for service growth opportunities by attending and participate in all meetings as required
    • Will be a Direct head, and will thus have to submit timesheets.
    • Carry out hazard and risk management for all tasks as per company policy and procedures and identify and implement health and safety improvements in the workplace.

    Requirements

    You must have at least an Associate/Technical Degree in Process and Control Instrumentation and you must have a background with Fisher Valves, Lathes and Milling Machine and Instrumentation.

    Business Development Manager - Rosemount Group & Wireless Senors - South Africa

    Job Description

    Emerson Automation Solutions innovative Rosemount product portfolio offers superior quality measurement and analytical technologies for process control and clarity. Rosemount’s technologies aim to provide customers with insight across all touch points needed to operate efficiently, safely, and with peace of mind. We are currently seeking to expand our Rosemount offerings in South Africa and as such have a requirement for a locally based Business Development Manager (BDM). The primary purpose of the BDM is to lead and manage all Sales and new Business Development activities of Rosemount including Measurement (Temperature, Pressure, Level, Flow) Tank Gauging, Analytical and Pervasive Sensing Solutions across the entire country. In addition to this, the BDM will be tasked with driving sales of Emerson’s Wireless sensors and networks as these can be used in conjunction with a wide range of process measurements, usually at dramatically lower costs as compared to wired alternatives, with faster installation time and minimal disruption.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Key Activities

    • Work closely with the Local Business Partners (LBP’s) to maximize potential for Rosemount and Emerson Process Management in the region
    • Prepare and submit Monthly POR with LBP, establish annual, quarterly and monthly sales plans and prioritize own activities and those of the LBP’s so these targets can be met
    • Build positive relationships with customers that will generate future sales and repeat business
    • Develop key accounts plans with LBP. Implement and Track / report progress against plan
    • Actively engage in Project Pursuit on both Entity and Destination basis
    • Develop and Drive Pervasive Sensing Growth Plan – clearly identify targets customers (and $$) for Safety, Reliability, Energy and for key initiatives products - X Well, WPG
    • Strategy Protect and grow existing installed base and target competitive accounts for market share gain
    • Assess customer requirements and suggest appropriate solutions
    • Refer sales leads, customer feedback and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization
    • Coach and mentor any less experienced LBP sales representatives to help achieve sales targets
    • Deliver on commitments

    Key Actions

    • Manage and develop the complete Rosemount product range utilizing complete Emerson Process portfolio to solve customer measurement needs
    • Develop Rosemount as the undisputed Leader for Measurement, Analyze and Wireless in the region
    • Accountable for achievement of country budget, Product groups and KOB
    • Responsible for the growth (bookings and sales volume) in country
    • Develop and Implement Key account plans and Pervasive Sensing plan
    • Co-ordinate with Product Marketing Managers to ensure common messaging
    • Ensure activities tie into Product Marketing initiatives including LCS and KOB 3 growth plans
    • Generate “Quantifiable Business Results” (QBR’s)
    • Conduct differentiation / product seminars and/or training to internal and external customers

    Key Market Support Services

    • Ensure Process Sales and Marketing Strategies are implemented throughout the country, in conjunction with regional leadership
    • Assist new product launches in country, in conjunction with Marketing Team. Activities include: product rollout to LBP’s, customers, demonstrations deployment, training for LBP, ensuring local approvals are met
    • Assist in Marquee and Key Account and Project Pursuits activities. Focus on developing
    • Differentiation Strategies during initial pursuit cycle
    • Assist in regular competitive market research as needed and identify local competitive threats
    • Work with LBP’s to deliver first class pre-sales product and technical support
    • Assist in any new and ad-hoc Marketing programs as needed
    • Deliver regular updated analysis of regional performance
    • Pursue International & local project with the help of project pursuit team
    • Support any other activity / strategies as decided by management

    Education & Experience Requirements

    • To be considered for this role you should be a South African National who is a graduate with a bachelors degree in a relevant engineering discipline
    • You should also have a minimum of 10 Years’ Experience, 4 years of which should have been gained in a sales or Business Development capacity where you were directly responsible for generating sales and growing market participation in the Instrumentation & Measurement industry sector
    • This is a hands on role which requires dedication and self motivation to succeed. You will be expended to travel extensively across South Africa as well as producing tangible business results in line with set expectations
