PURPOSE: To direct and co-ordinate technical aspects through project life cycles to ensure optimum performance according to LOM, business requirements, organisational objectives and sound engineering practice

MAJOR CHALLENGES:

Represent operations, maintenance departments and service departments in projects

Act as an interface between project teams and operational teams

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BEng Electrical Engineering ( Essential/Minimum )
• Certificate First Line Management ( Essential/Minimum
• Government Certificate of Competence ( Recommended/Desirable )

EXPERIENCE:

6-8 years Relevant job- Specific Experience - Essential/Minimum - Operational

REQUIREMENTS:

• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)

• Engineering Council of SA ( Essential/Minimum

POSITION OUTPUTS:

The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:

• Best Practice and Knowledge Management
• Initiate continuous improvement initiatives leading to cost saving ideas

• Conduct applied research work in order to initiate process changes
• Provide inputs throughout the project life-cycle towards improving process flow for projects
• Assume responsibility for engineering discipline design as representative of the operational teams in projects
• Implement knowledge management processes (professional networks)

• Develop and manage throughput and efficiency improvement plan and/or initiatives
• Investigate complex engineering problems and develop solutions for optimisation of engineering systems
• Communicate and obtain buy-in for implementation plans, new systems and processes
• Liaising with operational, maintenance, services and project teams

• Manage project in compliance with Exxaro Wide Project Management (EWPM) procedures
• Recognise, understand and take action to manage risks that can impact on project(s)
• Implement quality management systems for project(s)
• Ensure compliance to sound engineering standards and practices
• Ensure SHEC compliance during project life-cycle
• Customer and Client Relationship Management
• Represent operations, maintenance and service departments in projects
• Provide expert technical support to project teams and operational teams

• Compile and lead medium-sized teams effectively to achieve goals (project based)
• Manage and evaluate performance of subordinates when applicable
• Oversee technical development and coaching of PIT's, Engineers- and Technicians-in-Training when required

• Implement project management principles and practices for planning, design and implementation of project outcomes
• Conduct complex analysis of project systems and processes
• Provide technical inputs to the project team.
• Provide inputs in designs, technical reviews, HAZOPS and other project related reviews

• Evaluate and complete projects with minimum risk, within allocated timeframes and according to specified budgetary requirements

Job description

PURPOSE:

• To ensure Exxaro complies with standard corporate governance and legal practices.
• The main point of contact / liaison between the board of directors, company shareholders and the Executives
• Own and drive the reporting on company procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
• To manage the relationship with the outsourced legal service provider and to quality assure the content of the work delivered
• To manage the company’s use of the outsourced legal service provider
• To oversee the development of legislative reporting as outlined by the Company’s Act
• To oversee and manage the administration of all Exxaro management committees

Qualifications:

• BA (Hons) Law ( Essential minimum and/or )
• BComm (Hons) Law ( Essential/Minimum )
• Master of Business Administration ( Essential/Minimum
• Advanced Management Programme ( Essential/Minimum )

Requirements:

10-12 years relevant company secretarial and legal counsel experience
