PURPOSE
- The position exists to ensure that resources are utilised to maintain the plant as planned on Yellow Machines, Mobile Cranes, LDV, MDV, Diesel Pumps/Generators and HDV Fleet.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Health and Safety
- Maintain FAMP safety policy and procedure requirements

Co-ordinating

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
- Minimum N3 – Mechanical/Electrical or Diesel engineering subjects
- Diesel Mechanic Trade test-Artisan - MQA/MERSETA preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Preferably previous exposure to the environment in Mining/Mineral Processing
- 2 years Learnership/Apprentice
- 3 – 5 years Artisan experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Computer Literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Description
- This position exists to perform a technical and supervisory role on a tailings project. The role includes setting out the site, applying the relevant designs and plans, managing resources, monitoring and reporting on progress against the project plan, and liaising with subcontractors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business/Functional Management
- Ensure operational execution in their section aligns to organisational directives, as provided by senior superintendent.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to policies, procedures, practices and legislative requirements for their section, identify gaps, propose improvements and implement approved changes as required.
Financial and Commercial & Contract Management
- Monitor and control the cost of materials and equipment, recommend and implement cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.
- Order materials and actively follow up on deliveries to prevent project delays.
- Monitor daily costs and feed budget vs. actual cost variances to the Site Administrator and Senior Superintendent.
Risk Management & Compliance, Incl Environmental Social Governance (ESG) responsibility
- Ensure all financial, technical, and operational risks and opportunities within your area of responsibility are identified, with appropriate mitigation actions implemented and monitored. Align relevant stakeholders and escalate risks as necessary.
- Ensure that items manufactured off-site meet all specifications and that the supplier’s quality assurance processes are properly tracked.
Stakeholder Management (internal/external)
- Ensure professional interaction with clients and stakeholders at junior to middle management levels.
- Ensure subcontractor operational performance meets requirements, identifying and escalating operational, productivity, labour, and cost risks related to subcontractor management.
Management Operating System & Reporting
- Put appropriate controls in place at point execution to inform management information and enable immediate corrective action when there are deviations from the plan.
- Ensure all relevant data is collected accurately and on time at the point of execution, and shared with stakeholders in the required format, including cost, productivity, quality, safety, and health data, ensuring full compliance.

- Ensure work is executed on time, in full, to standard, and first-time-right, supporting operational goals and targets for your section; maintain records of production outputs and generate reports, charts, and graphs.

EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum five years relevant experience in respect of managing tailings and/or remining sites.
- Proven production management exposure as a Superintendent (re-mining).
- General mining production experience would be an advantage.
- Proven practical and hands-on experience in the management of leaders, labour and plant resources.
- Planning and commissioning of projects, preferably on tailings or re-mining operations.
- Minimum five years' experience in a management role, preferably in a re-mining environment.

PURPOSE
- Determine standards, policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance. Directing the maintenance of plant, buildings and equipment, scheduling and planning production activities.
- Appointed in terms of the MHSA and take responsibility for managing and controlling all engineering activities on the mineral processing plant. This includes ensuring legal compliance, improving equipment reliability, and maintaining the overall mechanical and electrical integrity of the plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Optimal Plant and Equipment Performance
- Co-ordinate the inspection lists and delegate daily duties to the Engineering Foreman.
- Fulfil duties as per MHSA Section 2.13.3.1 and applicable regulations.
- Maintain legal engineering records, logbooks, appointments, and inspection schedules.
- Conduct audits and inspections to identify non-compliance and implement corrective action.
- Participate in incident investigations and report writing.
Plant Administration Function
- Ensure data integrity on the engineering systems
- Asset lifecycle tracking, planned maintenance scheduling, and breakdown reporting.
- Generation and use of MTTR, MTBF, and other reliability metrics
Ensure Compliance to SHEQ policies, procedures, standards and applicable legislation
- Comply with all SHEQ standards.
- Ensure that all staff is trained and informed of and adhere to safety, health, environment and quality standards and procedures.

- Liaise with plant foreman and on a daily basis.
- Liaise on a daily basis with the Process Manager to discuss breakdowns, availability, budget and authorization
- Conduct daily and weekly meetings with staff to discuss and review maintenance procedures, planned maintenance, repairs and review costs against the budget.
- Attend to any client complaints

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
