    Chief Safety Officer - Projects (Mokopane)

    Job description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Effective cost control through efficient risk management practices
    • Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC's values and leadership initiatives
    • Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows
    • Effective implementation, monitoring and reporting of all risk and safety processes
    • Conduct accurate, timely risk and legal inspection audits and communicate recommendations
    • Conduct fact finding investigations and determine the cause of trends from investigations

    Minimum requirements

    Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

    • COMSOC 1 & 2
    • Audit Certification for ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001
    • Valid Medical certificate of Fitness

    • Basic knowledge of mining operations and methods
    • Basic knowledge of relevant safety principles and systems

    Human Resources Officer - Projects (Mokopane)

    Job description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Supervise the daily activities of the site HR Assistants and Labour Control Assistants
    • Effective HR execution within section in line with project requirements and HR standard operating procedures
    • Recruit project labour within section to approved labour plans, policies and procedures
    • Organize human resources and actively deal with unavailable labour within section
    • Plan and coordinate the re-location of employees where required
    • Provide accurate HR reports within time frames, Proactively identify and mitigate HR risks
    • Receive and act on Time and Attendance reports
    • Plan, organize and act on employee and industrial relations issues within section, including disciplinary hearings, in line with company policies, procedures and legislation
    • Effectively coordinate HR initiatives in section within timelines

    Operator Control Room (with Blasting / Trade Certificate) - Mokopane

    Job description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Receive production plan for the shift from the Mine Overseer/Shift Supervisor and input into the digitalisation system, monitor plan and report on status
    • Maintain and operate the control room digitalisation systems / functions to quality standards and escalate / report on system issues timeously
    • Arrange and make timeous call outs for breakdowns or repairs, escalate appropriately, no delays due to lack of communication
    • Coordinate and take machines out of operations in line with maintenance schedules
    • Monitor and manage the alarms on machines via the digitalisation dashboards e.g. overheating and notify the artisan accordingly
    • Coordinate and keep track of underground machinery, equipment and movement of people on the system
    • Monitor availability, utilisation, performance of equipment on the system
    • Communicate with shift supervisors and on-shift maintenance personnel on real-time mine management and inform when production targets are at risk
    • Advise on new configurations and changes to configurations of the relevant real-time systems when there are variations between actual and plan
    • Extract system reports, verify information against the plan, escalate non-conformance
    • Effective end of shift reporting and handover
    • Remotely monitor fans and pumps for ventilation and water management

    Minimum requirements

    • Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
    • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
    • Blasting / Trade Certificate
    • Numerical skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Projects
    • Exposure to digital production control systems [preferred]
    • Good English written and verbal communication skills

    Artisan Rigger - Mokopane

    Job description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Engineering installations are constructed according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
    • Plan and execute a rigging equipment maintenance schedule according to OEM specifications and company standards
    • Identify coil and inspect ropes
    • Protect ropes using various techniques
    • Maintain winder ropes, attachments, sheave wheels/ conveyors, and assist with shaft slinging
    • Engineering equipment is repaired according to agreed standards and schedules

    • Maintaining, repairing, overhauling and constructing of mainly TM3 machinery and associated underground operational equipment as well as Hydraulic equipment to standard
    • Supervising and training of staff under his/her responsibility
