Job Purpose
To support the Actuarial Analysts in pricing and product development to ensure the financial stability of the Company. The pricing junior analysts will prepare and analyse data for pricing adequacy, product development and enhancement for the continued profitability.
Formal Qualifications
• BSc/BCom (Mathematics/Mathematical Statistics/Actuarial Science).
• Progress with actuarial exams would be beneficial
Working Requirements and Knowledge
• 1-year experience in the Life insurance industry would be beneficial but not a requirement.
• MSOffice (advanced Excel knowledge), VBA and SQL
Key Responsibilities
• Data clean-up for pricing and experience investigations
• Assisting Actuarial Analyst with quotes and renewals
• Monitoring of claims ratios
• Ad-hoc projects

Sanlam Specialised Finance (SanFin) is responsible for creation of shared value for Sanlam, its shareholders, policy holders, and societies with in which it operates by managing financial risk, developing financial products, and balance sheet optimisation, pursuing investments and financing opportunities in assets, sectors, markets, organisations, and geographies that enable maximum return within acceptable risk parameters.
What will you do?
Working mainly within Legacy / Procedural and ERP Application Environment designs, codes, tests, debugs and corrects programs in development in OO environments. May also provide support and maintenance of computer systems. Produces complex program specifications and implements system enhancements. Works within a strict framework of programming standards and may give input into programming standards and applies Main Frame, Desktop and Embedded Technologies. Delivering results with IT development language and types such as Java and C++.

Provide technical support to the business relating to in house developed applications and integration processes.
Participate in every aspect of the system development life cycle.
Assist in the design of applications and processes.
Develop and maintain integration between required systems.
Ability to write quality technical specifications.
Develop innovative solutions using SanFin approved coding languages and operating systems
Understand and implement SanFin software development life cycle
Maintain coding standards
Maintain existing applications/processes
Provide support to production applications/processes
Qualification and Experience
Degree or Diploma with 6 to 8 years related experience.
