    Transformation Consultant

    Responsible for the Operational and Tactical Management of Transformation (DEI) within SBV

    • Manage and run the Transformation engagement process and Transformation forums.
    • Consult with the Transformation forums on all aspects pertaining to the collection of information e.g., workforce profile analysis, feedback received from the audit of the current policies and procedure as well as the Transformation Plan and Report.
    • Analyse feedback received from Transformation Forums, provide feedback to the relevant stakeholders, and identify and report on trends to Management on a quarterly basis.
    • Undertake an analysis of workplace profile to determine under/over representation within the various occupational categories monthly and engage Senior Management.
    • Provide support to Senior Management to review and update annual targets per occupational category aligned to the organisation’s applicable multi-year plan.
    • Inspect all Company policies, procedures, practices, and the working environment on an ongoing basis to identify any barriers that may contribute to the under/over representation and/or under-utilisation of employees from designated groups and provide recommendations should any barriers be identified.
    • Provide support to Management to implement customised strategies to address barriers.
    • Investigate all queries relating to transformation and anti-discrimination issues and provide feedback to the relevant personnel either telephonically or via written correspondence and where necessary escalate to the Social & Ethics Committee.
    • Prepare, amend, and manage the plan in consultation with Transformation Forums and Senior Management, advise on corrective action and monitor, evaluate, and provide feedback on the progress of the plan.
    • Provide support to Management to create and implement methods to rectify Committee malpractice.
    • Facilitate the implementation of the Act, adhere to the Code of Good Practice, keep abreast with the legislative changes relating to Transformation, and engage with the DOL as and when required.
    • Responsible for managing the Transformation information for BBBEE Scorecard purposes, coordinate Transformation requirements for BBBEE Audit and liaise with all relevant stakeholders.
    • Review and update the Transformation governance documentation annually, i.e., Transformation Policy and Charter, the Codes of Good Practice, DEI and the Committee Mandates.
    • Responsible to establish and manage the committees across SBV, ensuring effectiveness and ensuring every centre has an Operational Committee.
    • Institute a DEI calendar and campaigns to ensure the education and awareness of DEI within SBV.
    • Support the Learning & Development Manager to establish and manage the DEI strategy linked to the overall SBV objectives.
    • Prepare & presents the Employment Equity Report, obtaining approval from GM HR & Executive HR prior to the submission to the Department of Labour.

    Annually review and update all the Transformation governance documentation including:

    • Transformation Policy
    • Transformation Charter
    • Committee Mandates
    • Codes of Good Practice

    Provide support through advisory capacity

    • Communicate the Transformation Strategy and link to the overall SBV business strategy. Create awareness around the benefits and risks associated with non-compliance, conduct research, provide recommendations on possible interventions, and implement and monitor initiatives company wide.
    • Work in partnership with Learning & Development to create and deliver customised training aligned to business requirements and quality assurance standards.
    • Provide SME guidance and input to employees, represent SBV at the quarterly or ad hoc union meetings and provide overall feedback on Transformation.
    • Advise Line Management of their role and responsibility in accordance with the EE Act.
    • Provide end to end support to our centres within Africa and manage all aspects related to inspections of the DOL (centre level) providing feedback to Senior Management, tracking remedial action until completion.

    Requirements

    Minimum work experience required

    • 5 years' experience within Transformation discipline and consist of the following:
    • 5 years crafting and managing Employment equity plans and liaising with external SME’s / government
    • 5 years managing the management control element of BBBEE
    • 5 years leveraging excel and analytics tools to analyse information and translate that into meaningful insights for users / clients

    Minimum education required

    • BCom/BA: HR Management
    • Extensive Understanding of the Employment Equity Act, Labour Relations Act, Skills Development Act
    • Computer literacy. MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Advanced Excel)
    • Knowledge Sage 300 People and/or HR Systems advantageous
    • Knowledge of the National Bargaining Council of Logistics Road Freight Industry advantageous

    Legal Specialist

    Description

    Case Assessment and Investigation

    • Conduct initial case investigation to determine if enough evidence exists to defend a potential or existing suit.
    • Engage in pre-litigation settlement discussions to attempt to resolve matters.
    • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse range of agreements, and file comprehensive complaints and airtight responses.
    • Make frequent court appearances, hearings, and pre-trial conferences.
    • Advise business partners on the admissibility of evidence.
    • Assist the investigators in terms of assessing and validating the Company’s case.

    Compliance

    • Identify and assess legal risks in business operations and recommend appropriate controls.
    • Support compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements through advice, documentation, and internal reviews.
    • Ensure accurate filing and secure record-keeping of legal documents and correspondence.
    • Contribute to internal audit responses, risk reporting, and governance frameworks where applicable

    Litigation and Dispute Resolution

    • Oversee litigation processes, working with external counsel to protect SBV’s commercial and reputational interests.
    • Act as internal liaison between legal providers and SBV departments to ensure strategy alignment and cost effectiveness.
    • Guide internal investigations, evidence gathering, and pre-litigation assessments relating to contractual breaches, employee matters, and operational incidents.

    Legal Advisory

    • Provide timely legal advice on contract law, corporate governance, employment law, POPIA, and sector-specific regulatory matters.
    • Draft legal opinions, guidance notes, and internal advisory memoranda.
    • Support the development and rollout of legal policies, awareness sessions, and internal training.
    • Monitor changes in the legal and regulatory landscape and assess potential business impacts.

    Drafting and reviewing of contracts 

    • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including supplier contracts, procurement agreements, SLAs, MOUs, NDAs, and subcontractor arrangements.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, SBV policies, internal governance, and relevant risk frameworks.
    • Collaborate with business units to align contract terms with operational realities and client requirements.
    • Maintain and update standard contract templates and processes to support efficient and risk-managed contracting.

    Assisting IR on labour related matters 

    • Monitor legal risk in documentation and give guidance on the acceptable assumption of risk.
    • Provide legal guidance at arbitration or mediation when required.
    • Engage with council on complex matters.
    • Interpret laws and help business partners/employees to understand legal options.
    • Review of applications in terms of section 37D of the Pensions Funds Act.

    Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and a wide relationship network across business units

    • Implements a strong collaborative work-ethic with the team and with partners externally, providing support to and seeking support from business partners when necessary.
    • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as SAPS and legal networks.
    • Keeps Head of Legal and Compliance abreast of developments and risks as they occur.

    Governance

    • Subscribe and align to SBV Services' ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards, ensuring the department’s processes and quality management system is at all times in compliance with the standard.
    • Support SBVs ESG journey, reporting on and managing the ESG requirements to ensure a positive reflection and outcome.

    Requirements

    Minimum work experience required

    • 3–5 years’ experience in commercial law, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
    • Experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts.
    • Strong legal drafting
    • Knowledge of the legal principles that govern the Employer/Employee relationship.
    • Firm understanding of the rules, laws and regulations impacting SBV

    Minimum education / qualification required

    • Bachelor’s in law
    • Admitted attorney
    • Driver’s license with own vehicle
    • Willingness to travel nationally at short notice

    Creditors Clerk

    Description

    Ensures that all transactions in area or responsibility are processed timeously

    • On time generation of all entries in paying status from Procurement system for area under control (Accounts Payable, Imprest, Petty cash).
    • Ensure the accuracy of all GL allocations.
    • Review for items of Capital nature or prepaid items.
    • Process journals to reallocate cost when GL allocations are incorrect.
    • Review the accuracy and validity of all supporting documentation.
    • Ensures that all invoices complies with the VAT regulations in order to claim VAT back.
    • Escalate all outstanding entries that are not timeously loaded or receipted.

    Payment and refund processing

    Responsible for:

    • On time processing of all payments and refunds in area of control.
    • Accuracy and completeness of payments.
    • That all reconciliations that supports payments are in balance.
    • All vendors are paid within payment terms.
    • All Imprest and Petty cash accounts are refunded within timelines.
    • All employee refunds are processed within timelines.
    • All statutory payments are processed within timelines

    Accruals and reallocations

    • Raise accruals for all receipted open orders on procurement report.
    • Raise accruals for all recurring expenses in area of control.
    • Reverse accruals when payment is generated from procurement system.
    • Reconciliations
    • Responsible for Balance sheet recons for area of responsibility (Accrual accounts, Imprest and Petty cash accounts.
    • Make sure only valid entries in Balance sheet recons and resolve reconciling items timeously.

    General office administration

    • Keeps record of all financial documentation for auditing purposes
    • Ensure all Filling are done within agreed time frames

    Adhoc

    • Assist with any Adhoc duties as and when required

    Governance

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements: Education

    • Actively studying towards a 3-year tertiary financial qualification.
