Main purpose of position
- Currently we are looking for a Legal Counsel - EPC and O&M in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.
- As our Legal Counsel you will provide legal support on all EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) and O&M ( Operation and Maintenance (as required) related legal and contractual matters within the Renewable Energy Sector.
Main responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate EPC/subcontracts and O&M agreements (as required) related to renewable energy projects – solar, hydro, wind, P2X
- Draft and negotiate equipment supply contracts related to renewable energy projects – solar, hydro, wind, P2X
- Draft and negotiate direct agreements and performance security related to EPC/subcontracts, equipment supply contracts and O&M agreements
- Review financing loan documentation re: EPC & O&M terms
- Lead Compliance with regards to forced labour concerns within Scatec’s supply chain and develop compliance language in EPC/subcontracts, equipment supply contracts and O&M agreements
- Review supplier IDDs and ensure concerns raised in TEAR reports are covered in equipment supply contracts
- Ensure that compliance risks are properly managed in EPC/subcontracts, equipment supply contracts and O&M agreements
- Serve as legal rep re: all arbitrations involving EPC/subcontracts, equipment supply contracts and O&M agreements
- Liaise with “Regional Legal BD” re: EPC and O&M CPs required for financing
- Advise and support “VP Legal – O&M” and “Contracts and Claims Manager” in the drafting of all contractual notices for variations, claims and/or disputes
- Advise and support Supply Chain in the drafting and managing of claims against equipment suppliers (e.g. delay and/or performance LDs, defect and/or serial defect claims and Force Majeure claims)
- Liaise and manage relationships with external legal counsels and legal counterparts at partners, suppliers, subcontractors, project’s lenders (as applicable)
- Own all legal templates relating to EPC/subcontracts, equipment supply contracts and O&M agreements
Qualifications and competencies
- Law degree with a focus on common law
- Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant work experience – either law firm or in-house counsel
- Commercial drafting experience and reviewing of documents experience
- Must have experience with EPC and O&M Contracts within the renewable energy sector
- Excellent English skills, both written and verbal. Additional languages considered an advantage.

Main purpose of position

- As our Lead Project Planner you will be responsible to prepare and manage overall master project programme (schedule), integrating work breakdown structure for progress measurement, scheduling, progress reporting and project control.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide continuous input towards improvement and optimization of the Operating System
- Compile Project Program (Schedules) for Opportunity / Development as required by Business Development
- Assist in developing Milestones to be integrated in the relevant PPA
- Compile / Prepare overall master project program (schedule) for Delivery phase integrating the standard Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Setting up the baseline, cost weighting and generating the S-Curves

- Compile Program Memorandum Basis incorporating all the necessary information relevant to the Project
- Support engineering team with planning for engineering documents, MDL and Programme alignment and document progress reporting
- Support project manager with Gate Review planning and preparation
- Understand contractual matter, identify critical milestones and notifications (PPA time analysis), incorporate on the master project program
- Reviewing / verifying the contractor’s baseline, Programme Basis Memorandum, Manpower and machinery histograms and S-Curve
- Update the project schedule based on work achieved, baseline updates and reporting, as well as providing forecast to Supply Chain/Logistics/PM on upcoming and critical activities
- Coordinate the site project planner to ensure Scatec’s policy, procedures and templates are followed as well as the information gathered from the contractors are incorporated into the overall project master schedule, including histogram analysis
Qualifications And Competencies
- Formal Technical Qualification (Construction, Engineering, Project Management)
- 8+ years of experience with projects involving procurement and construction (EPC)
- Advanced knowledge of Planning Tools - Primavera (required) and others (MS Project, MS Office)
- Experience with EPC Renewable project is desirable (Wind & Solar)
- Critical path analysis and risk evaluations experience
- Language: fluent both written and spoken in English (any other language is a plus)

- As our Senior Category Manager – Wind Turbines to lead the global wind turbine procurement category across our renewable energy portfolio. The role will be responsible for developing and executing Scatec’s wind turbine category strategy, qualifying and managing a competitive global supplier base, leading Turbine Supply and Installation Agreement negotiations, and ensuring alignment between procurement, project execution, and logistics activities for various projects.

Main Responsibilities:
Category & Supplier Management
- Develop and implement Scatec’s global wind turbine category strategy aligned with company growth plans, project pipeline, and regional market dynamics.
- Lead qualification, evaluation, and ongoing performance management of wind turbine suppliers, ensuring compliance with Scatec’s technical, commercial, ESG, and risk requirements.

Why this role matters
- As our Senior Document Control Manager, you will be responsible to secure that project and non-project related Documents and information are handled in accordance with our internal procedures and contract requirements and implemented in an efficient and uniform way across all global projects.

- Overall responsibility to update training material (including gamified training) and ensure new employees are sufficiently trained in Document Management (both projects and Governing Documents).
- Responsibility to maintain and update the Document Management / Enterprise Content Management system as required – propose solutions and facilitate, interfacing with the IT department and other parts of Scatec for the continuous improvement of processes
- Lead the SME team in feasibility, assessment and implementation of DMS or ECM systems
