Purpose of the position:

BSc IT or relevant Degree or Diploma (Preferred)

Key Performance Objectives:

• Codes, tests, corrects and documents large and/or complex systems and system modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards, architectures and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result
• Specifies user/system interfaces and translates logical designs into physical designs taking account of target environment, performance requirements and existing systems with the goal of minimizing complexity
• Produces design documents of all components using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate
• Creates unit tests for all developed components
• Takes part in code reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues’ work
• Contribute and adhere to policies, standards and procedures applicable to development, quality and release management
• Identifies areas for quality and/or environmental improvement. Taking into account the development strategy, wider business objectives or advice from colleagues. Actively contributes to the implementation of quality improvement initiatives, helping to drive a Quality Culture
• Identifies and plans systematic corrective action by examination of the root cause of the problem

Experience and Knowledge:

• Understanding of system architecture and data modeling

• Preferred developments tech: C#, SoftwareAG webMethods, SOA Software, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, HTML, JavaScript, WCF, Team Foundation Server, ADFS, PowerShell
• Preferred databases technologies: Oracle, SQL Server, Elastic Search, MongoDB
• Continuous improvement, keeping abreast of trends in technology, practices, methodology
• Exposure to OO programming and design. Understands OO modelling and design patterns
• Knowledge of Microservices, DevOps, EDA, SOA
• Software engineering best practices, life cycles, standards and methodologies (Primarily Scrum and Kanban but also insight into control processes such as Waterfall)

Key Accountabilities:

• Experience in delivery of solutions
• High level design and technical design of payments solutions
• Evaluate new IT technologies and methods that are of potential value
• Identify potential opportunities for the business
• Integration Strategy and Architecture
• Perform system analysis
• Solution proposal to Design Authority
• System analysis to new platform using operations experience
• Process/Solution documentations.
• Develop an associated Integration Roadmap agreed with the business
• Provide technical leadership during the development of new/enhanced systems and ensure that all essential elements (methods & tools, functionality, service quality, systems management etc.) are considered
• Perform solution options analysis and product selection with particular focus on Total Cost of Ownership

Functional Skills & Experience:

• E-Commerce and payment solutions experience essential
• Strong leadership skills with experience of shaping, motivating and driving change within a large environment
• Depth Knowledge about mobile money
• Experience of geographically distributed multi-cultural working
• Familiar with Telecoms industry processes and applications
• Has credible integration expertise and experience
• Has practical experience of IT Strategy development
• Experience of Architecture development is able to envisage the business potential of emerging technologies
• Has broad practical experience of IT system development and service delivery
• Atleast 5 year’s experience in Solutions Architecture

Expert knowledge of:

• Integration technologies
• Extensive experience in development with SOA and Middleware Integration (Tibco, Oracle Fusion, Websphere)
• Experience in Java development J2EE /SPRING Skills
• EDI/ETL//ESB
• Good knowledge of the SOA Integration landscape
• ETOM/SID
