    Specialist OT Systems & Infrastructure - Wessels Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As a OT Specialist Systems and Infrastructure, you will be responsible for leading  the operational support, maintenance, and strategic alignment of OT infrastructure services across Level 2 and above (Purdue model). Ensures service availability, performance, and compliance with industry standards, managing escalation pathways between OT support teams, engineering, and OEMs. Leads capacity planning, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and business continuity.
    • Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
    • Lead resolution of escalated issues affecting critical production systems;
    • Foster, maintain, and improve client relationships;#
    • Ensure sufficient capacity to prevent service failures due to capacity issues;
    • Communicate clearly and effectively within the team and with clients. Facilitate cross-training and transfer knowledge among team members;
    • Follow all health, safety, and environmental standards unique to mining, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies;
    • Lead routine maintenance and repairs on IT/OT hardware, including servers, networking equipment, sensors, PLCs, and field devices used in mining operations.
    • Calibrate PLCs, SCADA systems, sensors, and actuators;
    • Use and configure monitoring tools to maximise service availability;
    • Manage and support formalised and approved projects.
    • Ensure proper maintenance, tracking, and safeguarding of equipment and resources under the OT/MES function.
    • Ensure compliance with SLAs for incidents and service requests.

    ABOUT YOU:

    • You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
    • Must have a minimum of 10 years IT or C&I Experience;
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in Leadership and Team Management;
    • Minimum of 5 years in Technical Mining Field;

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Grade 12;
    • Bachelor Degree/BTECH /Diploma in IT/ Computer Science or related field.

    Specialist Digital Technology - HMM

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As a Specialist Digital Technology, you will be responsible to serve as the primary interface between the assigned operation or function and Digital Technology, for the overall responsibility of business technology strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management, and relationship management. The role takes customer experience feedback and escalations back to the Digital Technology Manager, and in reverse, the role takes new technology changes and improvements back to the end users to upskill and drive take-up.  This role owns the service relationship with regards to the Operation/Function and Technology expectations for service and include incidents and change management, analysis, design, development, deployment, monitoring, innovation, support, maintenance, optimisation, end user engagement, knowledge share, contract and vendor management.
    • Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
    • Manage local operation ITIL processes (incident, problem, change, service request) to ensure service outcomes are realized;
    • Engagement between the operational Technology user community and Digital Technology;
    • Manage the customer experience for the operation by gathering feedback and escalations and work with the wider Technology team to improve any gaps;
    • Vendor management of key managed services vendor(s), specifically in the Service Management platform (weekly/monthly meetings, reporting and analysis of performance);
    • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of technology services and solutions to the operation and take responsibility for the support of all Technology activities;
    • Ensure adherence to service level requirements;
    • Maintain professional relationship with all Technology stakeholders;
    • Contribute to the development of the Operation Technology plan and roadmaps;
    • Contribute to the fostering of a continuous improvement culture to ensure ongoing enhancement and optimisation of Technology capabilities and technical skills;
    • Represent Digital Technology by participating in various governance structure at the operation level and globally. 

    ABOUT YOU:

    • You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
    • Experience in working in platforms on a global scale;
    • Project Management experience;
    • Strong experience of working alongside vendors;
    • Demonstrated technology platform and platform management experience.

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma/BTECH in IT or Related field;
    • Relevant Service Management / Technology certifications will be advantageous;
    • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification will be advantageous;
    • TOGAF certification will be advantageous.

    Artisan Assistant - Mamatwan Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As an Artisan Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the South32 commitment to Zero Harm, you will play a key role in safely assisting artisans with mobile machine maintenance and breakdowns. Compliance to all applicable procedures is essential.
    • Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
    • Building and maintaining effective relationships internally and with external;
    • Assist electrician with the planned maintenance and inspections;
    • Basic use of hand tools;
    • Apply to health, safety and housekeeping standard;
    • Participate in investigations into workplace incidents;
    • Report any unsafe behaviour, conditions and incidents to the responsible person;
    • Conduct risk assessment before all tasks and identify risks and hazards;
    • Keep all equipment clean and in a good condition all the time. 

    ABOUT YOU:

    • You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance is essential;
    • In depth knowledge of Surface Mining Principles is advantageous;
    • Experience in maintenance of electrical is advantageous. 

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Serious contenders will have a Grade 10 for internal employees and Grade 12 with Mathematics for external candidates;
    • Technical N2/N3 technical certificate advantageous;
    • Valid drivers license.
