    High School Sign Language SAL Educator (Temp) - Spark Blue Downs High - 2025

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan for, teach and co-teach face-to-face and distance lessons for and deliver academic and club lessons.
    • Collaborate with grade level and content area partners to develop rigorous, engaging learning experiences and to create and implement high-quality, individualised behaviour and learning plans for scholars.
    • Participate actively in all scheduled professional development sessions.
    • Develop and administer formative and termly assessments to track student progress and analyse the data for student growth for all scholars to meet the required proficiency ratings.
    • Submit and analyse scholar data to track progress and intervene when necessary.
    • Lead scholar social and emotional development through CQ (Character Quotient) sessions and reflections.
    • Plan for, deliver and monitor programmes to support low performing scholars, or extend high-performing scholars.
    • Participate in place-based education where required within mandated national curriculum or as part of SPARK Schools curriculum enrichment.
    • Participate in career and tertiary pathways education where required as part of scholar culture and character development.

    • Implement strategies implemented by the Crisis Management team. Adhere to the child protection, anti-bullying and health and safety policy.
    • Attend Saturday events and parent community meetings.
    • Submit student results data when required.

    Qualifications and Criteria:

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

    • English language fluency
    • Sign Language language fluency/signing
    • Completed B.Ed or PGCE degree in Second Additional Language Senior and FET - Sign language 
    • SACE registration

    Primary School Acting Principal - SPARK Rosslyn Hub - 2025

    Responsibilities:

    • Implement a highly rigorous and engaging instructional program that promotes content mastery, creative problem solving, and character development, which is consistent with SPARK Schools’ mission and vision.
    • Use quantitative (assessment) and qualitative (anecdotal) data to drive decision-­making and instruction at the school.
    • Create and maintain a school culture that values high achievement, strong character, and love for learning.
    • Set ambitious goals, academically and otherwise, and holds staff and students accountable for achieving those results.
    • Manage student behaviour and oversees the implementation of individualised plans for students who repeatedly do not meet SPARK Schools’ behavioural expectations.
    • Promote a culture of self -reflection and continual improvement of effectiveness in staff.
    • Facilitate the professional development of SPARK staff by keeping a consistent weekly observation and coaching cycle and collaborating with SPARK Support staff to provide relevant weekly professional development sessions.
    • Conduct termly evaluations of SPARK staff to nurture their professional growth and leadership capacities.
    • Facilitate a high-­achieving work environment where staff feel genuinely valued and supported.
    • Build relationships with all relevant stakeholders, including parents, families, and the greater community, and leverages these relationships to increase student achievement.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

    • English language fluency.
    • Clear criminal record
    • Grade 12 Certificate.
    • Completed B.Ed or PGCE degree.
    • SACE registration.

    Experience:

    • Previous experience managing or working with primary school-aged children.
    • At least 3-4 years of excellent classroom instruction.
    • Previous experience leading a team, preferably in a school context.
    • Experience and practice with South African labour laws.

    Payroll Bookkeeper - SPARK Schools Support

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage general payroll administration activities.
    • Import payroll information into the system accurately and efficiently.
    • Reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Prepare and distribute monthly payroll reports.
    • Upload bank files for payroll processing.
    • Conduct systems administration related to payroll software.
    • Prepare audit documentation for both internal and external auditors.
    • Complete SARS submissions for mid-year and year-end reporting.
    • Handle Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) Return of Earnings (ROE) submissions.

    Accounting Functions:

    • Process monthly journal entries.
    • Perform cash book reconciliations.
    • Reconcile payroll accounts on a monthly basis.
    • Collaborate with the finance department on all payroll-related reconciliations and transactions.

    Requirements

    Qualifications and Criteria:

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and criteria:

    • Minimum 3-5 years of payroll processing experience, specifically with Sage 300.
    • In-depth knowledge of SARS and BCEA legislation and requirements.
    • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or HR, or related field (advantageous).
