    Engineer - General Civils

    Job Description

    Here is what you will do:

    • Design of civil engineering infrastructure such as earthworks/grading, roads, stormwater, sewer and water across various market sectors.
    • Preparation and/or management of deliverables related to 3D designs models, drawings, reports, specifications and bill of quantities
    • Applying the AECOM Quality Management System (QMS) in all work
    • Knowledge of associated local standards and design codes.
    • Will be required to support across international projects and working across different timezones
    • Undertakes technical coordination with authorities for approvals.
    • Solves problems encountered using knowledge, innovation and modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous works.
    • Contributes to the area of expertise, providing proposed improvements to existing processes and delivers solutions where precedent may not exist.
    • Performs technical quality reviews of design calculations, BIM models and drawings, including documentation in project record by adhering to occupational health and safety and corporate standards.

    Here’s what we’re looking for:

    • Strong proficiency in the design and modelling of civil infrastructure (earthworks/grading, roads, stormwater & utilities)
    • Strong proficiency in the use of AutoCad, Civil3D.
    • Good working knowledge of ProjectWise and BIM360
    • Proficiency in other software packages such as Microstation or 12d Model, is advantageous
    • Experience working in other (international) standard specifications and/or design guidelines will be advantageous.
    • Experience in the execution of multi-disciplinary projects through BIM
    • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Ability to work independently or within a team environment, as required.
    • Own reliable transport.

    Climate Change Consultant

    Job Description

    About the Role

    • As a Climate Change Consultant, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to assess climate risks, develop adaptation and mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with global and regional climate frameworks. Your expertise will guide AECOM clients and teams in embedding sustainability into project design and delivery.

    Here is what you will do:

    • Conduct climate risk and vulnerability assessments for engineering projects and operations.
    • Develop and implement adaptation strategies to enhance infrastructure resilience.
    • Design mitigation plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency.
    • Advise on compliance with international and local standards (IPCC, Paris Agreement, TCFD).
    • Model climate scenarios and assess potential impacts on project performance.
    • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and client presentations.
    • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and training on climate change strategies.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented measures.

    Engineer - Geotechnical

    Job Description

    AECOM is looking to recruit an Engineer - Geotechnical

    Here is what you will do:

    • Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
    • Assist with the monitoring of the geotechnical field activities to ensure that they are undertaken in accordance with the project requirements, apply geotechnical assessment and interpretation .
    • Liaise with the geotechnical contractors to ensure the project meets with client expectations and deadlines. 
    • Have good technical awareness/experience of specifications and implementing in accordance with the contract and design requirements.
    • Ensure the correctness and completeness of all deliverables (reports, drawings, etc.) to ensure they meet specifications (quality) and are consistent with field conditions, etc.
    • Assist the geotechnical team in preparation of contractual correspondence, as required.
    • Be willing to travel as the nature of the geotechnical projects may require traveling to other countries to undertake and complete work.
    • Perform other responsibilities or duties associated with this geotechnical position, as may be appropriate.

    Here’s what we’re looking for:

    • Ability to collaborate closely with our Technical Directors and Associates in project delivery, work winning and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
    • Actively input to team and client meetings, being prepared to own decisions and put forward alternative ideas and concepts.
    • Provide on the job mentoring of junior staff and support them towards achieving chartered status.
    • Proven leadership experience in similar roles, with an ability to inspire and lead teams.
    • Prepare, check and review a wide range of technical documents, including desk studies, interpretative reports, specifications, construction drawings and design reports.
    • Demonstrable understanding of current design codes, standards, and best practices in geotechnical design, but also open to exploring new methods and innovations. Good knowledge of Eurocodes is desirable.
    • Experience in geotechnical designs including settlement analysis, retaining wall, foundation (shallow and deep), earthworks and slope design
    • Experience in geotechnical software including GEO5, WALLAP, ALP, SlopeW/Slide, Plaxis etc.
    • AutoCAD/Civil 3D is preferred
    • Strong knowledge of soil and rock mechanics

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in geotechnical investigation and design work post undergraduate degree
    • BSc degree in Geotechnical engineering or related (Hons would be advantageous)
    • Excellent knowledge of development and implementation of geotechnical investigations.
    • On the way to registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer
