    Planned Maintenance Administrator (Fixed Term Contract)

    This role is responsible to assist the Planned Maintenance Officer in the coordination, facilitation and management of the maintenance management programme for Mines and Plants by providing planning, control systems and maintenance of policies and strategies for the management of equipment whilst optimising the interface with other Mine and Plant systems and functions.

    Some of responsibilities include:

    • Effective coordination of the Mine/Plant planned maintenance program
    • Preventative Maintenance
    • Analysis and Improvement
    • Planning and Scheduling
    • Information Management
    • Early Equipment Management
    • Training and Development
    • Maintenance Material Management

    Qualifications
    Qualification required:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent

    Experience
    required:

    • 1 year experience in the Planned Maintenance office with the ability to schedule and manage maintenance activities within the mining operation environment
    • Experienced in using a computerized planned maintenance system (SAP PM)
    • Basic Computer skills: MS Excel

    Other requirements:

    • English literate (speak, read and write)
    • Basic artisan training module
    • Business Centered Maintenance training module
    • Ability to plan and organize
    • Working knowledge of client disciplines – Metallurgy, Mining, Engineering
    • Valid driving license (own car advantageous)

    SUPERVISOR ENGINEERING

    As our Supervisor Engineering, you will control the engineering process and make the necessary adjustments to contribute to the attainment of quality final product throughput in a safe and cost-effective manner. Review identified slow moving stock and asses for usefulness or obsolescence by:

    • Review identified spares currently kept in the warehouse for potential obsolescence and usefulness and to ensure proper storage and preservation
    • Matching identified spares and link them to a correct functional location
    • Ensuring that Equipment failures are kept to minimum, quality of maintenance carried out and schedule adherence
    • Achieving of production targets and inventory optimization (Working capital & operational expenditure optimization)
    • Enabling opportunity to realize income by disposal of obsolete stock and accuracy of inventory information(usefulness)
    • Adhering to all health and safety practices requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.

    This role is in the Supply Chain department at a Band 7 level reporting to the Section Manager Logistics
    Qualifications
    You will be required to have the following:

    • Grade 12/N3 National Engineering Certificate with Trade Certificate - Mechanical Engineering
    • 5 Years’ operational experience in Engineering/Maintenance - at C1 / C2 level
    • 2 Years as an Engineering Supervisor essential

    Hygienist

    Here is an opportunity to join one of the biggest Iron Ore Mining company in South Africa as our Specialist Hygienist. This position is to establish and maintain appropriate hygiene programmes which considers potential health hazards to which employees are exposed. To also provide sufficient support and information to minimize health risk to employees.

    Job Description

    • The role of the Specialist Hygienist will involved in designing, evaluating, co-ordinating and managing occupational hygiene programmes within the mine to meet legal compliance and a safe and healthy working environment, thereby minimising the operation(s) risk of litigation and adverse publicity.
    • You will be responsible to provide expert advice to line management, thus ensuring that operations and activities conducted in the mine do not pose a health risk or threat to the workforce.
    • This role will design and provide reports to management and use various controls to minimise health risks to employees.
    • Advise the mine on the mines emergency preparedness and response requirements as mandated by relevant legislations
    • Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment where employees and contractors can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.

    This role is in the Safety Health Environmental Department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Safety, Health and Environment.
    Qualifications

    • B Degree in Occupational Hygiene or Environmental Health Sciences
    • Advanced Certificate in Mine and Environmental Control (ACMEC) and Mine Ventilation Society (MVS) registration
    • Registration with SA Institute of Occupational Hygiene (SAIOH) as an Occupational Hygienist and Intermediate Certificate in Mine and Environmental Control (MEC) and Mine Ventilation Society (MVS) registration
    • Driver’s Licence: Code B (Light vehicle)

    Required
    Experience:

    • 3 – 5 years operational experience in Occupational Hygiene of which two years should be at managerial capacity

    Manager Mining

    As a mining manager, you will be responsible for setting up a new mine and progressing contractors that are going to be recruited to do their contract work. You will work closely with processing to align tonnage to fragmentation, volume, grade targets and with AS&R to align equipment availability targets and operate the reliability programmes.

    You will also lead development and ongoing management of the mining annual plan and budget.

    Part of your responsibilities will include monitoring performance against plan, lead opportunity/risk identification and mitigation, and ensure action is taken to manage deviation from plan.

    You will be accountable for creating and maintaining an effective mining function on-site so that the team achieves the plan and targets and continues to improve performance over time.

    This role is in Mining Department and is at a Band 5 level reporting to General Manager.
    Qualifications

    • Relevant tertiary qualification with a Degree in Mining Engineering.
    • Mine Manager Certificate of Competency Ticket.

    Technical Knowledge:

    • Extraction and drill & blast optimisation
    • Contamination management and grade control
    • Load & Haul optimisation
    • Mining industry value chain & Commercial /business drivers in the mining industry
    • Opportunity/ risk management techniques and critical controls
    • Safety, health, environment and relevant legislative requirements
    • AA Operating and organisational models advantageous
