    Senior Broker - Reinsurance (Facultative)

    Aon Reinsurance has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Facultative Broker at our offices in Sandton. The successful incumbent will be required to have an understanding of clients and markets in order to negotiate the best possible price and capacity for the client to protect their reinsurance portfolios. You will place cover within global markets on a day to day basis ensuring the best outcomes for the client and Aon and to coordinate and contribute to the marketing and negotiation of business within global markets in accordance with market strategy.

    As a Senior Broker some of your responsibilities will include:

    • Acting as the primary point of contact within the broking team for specific clients to provide specialist advice to the client and client team.
    • Being responsible for providing advice to clients and colleagues on placement design, available coverage and capacity, likely pricing, potential coverage enhancements and market progress within scope of responsibility.
    • Working in partnership with the client team to ensure client needs and expectations are met.
    • Contributing to on-going client satisfaction, retention and profitability.
    • Analysing clients' reinsurance requirements, collecting and analysing relevant information to identify risk transfer solutions.
    • Providing advice to clients and colleagues on the scope of coverage available for different products to establish the appropriate product that meets the clients' reinsurance requirements.
    • Being responsible for negotiating the best prices and capacity using knowledge, expertise and market presence for desired cover where appropriate.
    • Identifying appropriate channels for risk placement based on clients' market security guidelines and other requirements.
    • Negotiating terms and conditions of placement with lead underwriters, obtaining quotes, and handling underwriter queries and requests for information.
    • Ensuring complete placement by negotiating with support underwriters, handling underwriter queries and requests for information.
    • Creating, maintaining and managing long-term business relationships with underwriters to enhance service delivery, establish new opportunities for risk placement or facilitate the settlement and payment of claims.
    • Negotiating bespoke or manuscript wordings with underwriters for individual accounts.
    • Negotiating or assisting in negotiation of terms and conditions for a facility with underwriters, including the negotiation of facility wordings.
    • Being responsible for formulating a coherent client, market and remuneration strategy.
    • Being responsible for the review of market submissions and presentations for new business and as well as renewals to ensure that it effectively sells the client's risk to the market.

    Role-specific Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience

    • Be in possession of a Grade 12 (matric).
    • Be in possession of the appropriate NQF level 4 FAIS/ Short Term Insurance qualification.
    • A degree in Insurance and Risk Management will be advantageous.
    • First Level Regulatory Exam for Representatives.
    • Have proven track record with 5 – 8 years’ experience in broking/ insurance/ underwriting/ reinsurance treaty environment.
    • Have strong industry networking skills and knowledge.
    • Have excellent sales and marketing skills.
    • Have technical competence of client needs and the Reinsurance Market

    Aon Reinsurance has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Treaty Broker at our offices in Sandton. The successful incumbent will be required to have an understanding of clients and markets in order to negotiate the best possible price and capacity for the client to protect their reinsurance portfolios. You will place cover within global markets on a day to day basis ensuring the best outcomes for the client and Aon and to coordinate and contribute to the marketing and negotiation of business within global markets in accordance with market strategy. This position complies with the Company’s Employment Equity Policies.

    Detailed responsibilities
    As a Senior Broker some of your responsibilities will include:
